How do i fix my gemin CDm 3700g so that it reads my CDs

I would go to radio shack or some electronics store and buy a can of compressed air that comes with a straw taped to the can. Plug the straw into the nozzle and open the CD drive and blow the air into it while moving it back and forth in the slot to blow as much dust as you can away from the laser head and surrounding areas. That should clean the laser head and allow it to read properly unless something is wrong with it. I would try that on any CD/DVD drive before any other steps. When they get dusty, they can't read.

I purchased an MP3 for mom, trying to load, hitting roadblocks

If u are ripping all the songs from the CDs into the computer then into the device, i would suggest using a program like itunes or windows media player, because they will organize the songs in folders for you when it is finished ripping. If you plan on purchasing the songs from an online source the best would be itunes or amazon. I hope this helps in any way and dont post your phone number on the internet, its always a bad idea.

Sometimes cd wont turn or play. CD seems to catch the lid when spinning. Is there problems relating to the lid position after time? Any ideas/history. Thanks

That usually happens when you get the reading lense scratched (from inserting dirty cds with dust, grease or finger prints). So, since the cd content cannot be read, it just don't give the command to the chip that converts the input data (whatever the content of the cd) into output data (what you listen or what you see from the cd). Hope it helps, good luck,

Gemini cdt-05 hybrid grounding noise

Well, number #1 - it's a Gemini. So, you can rest assured that the craftsmanship is not the greatest. It's hit or miss with this company.

#2, if the issue you are having is a ground issue, then perhaps the internal ground wire might have come loose, or there is some sort of interference somewhere. Do you have your turntables next to anything that draws alot of power? Such as air conditioner, or a microwave, fridge, etc? Also, connecting to the same power outlet with something that draws alot of electricity might have the same effect. Try a different power outlet. One that is not being used if possible. If you use a power strip or extension cord, try a new one.

There could be many issues which cause feedback.. the main thing is to determine what is NOT causing the problem. So, you know it's NOT your mixer. Great. Now, move on to the next step. Check your cartridges also. Try swapping them out, see if the problem follows. Many times the tonearms aren't grounded properly. There are 5 wires coming out from the tonearm - L+, L-, R+, R- and GROUND. If the ground came off during transport, or movement, this might be your problem.

Good luck!
