Hi Kathryn, it may just be that facebook's servers are overloaded or some wider-network issue so your PC cant establish a connection with facebooks servers. Perhaps you can just wait for a few hours or try again tomorrow to see if there are any changes. In the meantime, try downloading any updates for your browser (I suggest using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome over Internet Explorer) and then try again. It may just be a browser issue that gets in an endless loop trying to load some parts of Facebook's page, and an update of the browser should fix the problem.

This may be a Microsoft problem. Try a different browser, like google chrome, firefox or Avant. Run your McAfee over your computer to scan for viruses and then quarantine.

You very well may have to go to the HP site and download the Win 7 drivers for your computer. Just because the O/S is upgraded does not automatically update the drivers.
facebook is a website and a web service. the device you use should not be relevant, just make sure you are using a supported browser such as google chrome, internet explorer or firefox, and that you have installed the required scripts such as java script and flash.
