I have a hitachi widescreen tv model 46f500 and every time magic focus is on and it does the red it stops and an error code 5 comes up in the corner, while watching the tv there seems to be a red shade over images...
I have the same issue - when I do a magic focus it stops after 3 bars on red and says 5 on the screen. After doing a bit of research, I took off the front cover over the speakers. This gave access to some adjustment screws for the colours and the converge settings. I adjusted the red colour and tried another magic focus - this time it worked!! My picture is perfect again. Only problem is after shutting it off and it cooling down, the same thing happens again. Can anyone tell me why this is?? I'm assuming there is something wrong as far as parts go but I dont want to spend the $$ on a projection tv.
