My projector turned off in the middle of watching a movie. One of the indicator LEDs which gives coded blinking for different problems with the projector says there is a problem with the lamp temperature. When I turn it on again after waiting a while, the lamp turns on, but goes out again with the same code after about 10 minutes. Is there anything you can suggest to do? I have cleaned the vents and fan blades. I see that the fans are working when I have the top off.

what are the state of the leds on the top cover as it tries to start up, and what finally do the leds indicate when it gives up trying

This sounds more like a heat thing to me rather than a lamp problem. Is there any indication (blinking light?) when the unit shuts down? I would expect to see a temp light blinking or on.

Try cleaning the fan area and verify that the air filter is clean as well.

the light filter on the blue lcd panel is fried due to excessive dust and heat. you may need to replace the entire optical engine if you cannot find the individual piece.

are there any leds on? if not, the power supply is shot. if there are leds on, the color and number of flashes will tell you the problem.

we changed out the light buld... now it works fine.. funny thing was projector was brand new just out of box... you could see first thing there was a brown spot in the center of the buld creating the spot apparently after it heated up.... thanks again

It is possible the lamp has died even though you only got 800 hours. Rated Lamp life is always up to and never a surety of those actual hours in the brochure will be acahieved. Replacing the lamp won't make any difference at all.

If you have checked the fuse on the Powersupply Board and it tested ok , then the whole Board will need replacement.
