I have a kitchenaid gas stove who's main oven door keeps falling further down every time we open it. It stops but it is no longer horizontal . It's getting worse and worse. Now it doesn't even seem to seal properly when I close it. Does anyone know which worn out parts need to be replaced and how do you go about doing it? Thanks in advance for any help. Joe B

You need to replace both door hinges. In order to give more specific directions on how to do this I would need your model number.

Is it an easy job or is it one of those that are a lot more involved then you think?

The door needs to be removed, which depending on the hinge type will have a couple different ways to accomplish that. Some hinges have built in clips to help in removal and others require pins to be inserted into small holes. The new hinges would come with this pins. Once you have the door off its not that difficult to figure out how to disassemble.

This part of my post got cut out. There is a screw on either side of the oven frame attaching the door to the frame. If I remove these screws should the door easily come off?
Is there a parts store affiliated with this web site. If there is I would like to support it, if not I'll order through applianceparts.com.
Once again thanks for all your help Joe

I have a kitchenaid model kgrs505xss double oven. The flame in the bottom oven comes on and burns for a very short time, then turns off before the oven comes up to temperatures. What is wrong?

Any gas cooker has a thermocouple that keeps the gas valve open; if the thermocouple no longer generates current (which feeds the coil of an electromagnet) then the gas valve closes and the flame will go out. So check thermocouple. In normal conditions the voltage generate by the thermocouple is low but the current is high.

How do I turn my oven on? I have never had a gas stove, but I cant get the stove to start except if I turn right to grill in other words I can get it to ignite for 180 degrees etc only grill

normal operation is to push the oven knob in and turn
pushing in sets the igniter off and turning opens the gas flow to ignite
always light an oven with the oven door open
stop s an explosion if there is a problem
down load an operators manual bu going google and typing in --- user manual for ( make and model ) gas stove --- find a pdf version and download it

Have oven model no. 6KA0100, installed in our new home eleven years ago. Wife complains oven takes long time to reach set temp. I note that the oven door is always slightly ajar at top as compared to...

I would say your stove is old and the door closer springs are burnt out and shot. Yes if the door is open even a little bit the stove will not heat up. If the temp is not right the cakes will not bake right. Get a new one. or get a repair person to fix it. It will keep your wife happy.

There is no povision made for adjustment on hinges.
