Hello, We have a Kenmore gas stove model # 71761. The burners on top work good. The issue is with the oven portion. Oven is working. Flame comes on upon ignition to desired temperature setting and then after about 12-15 min. of operation, the flame goes out and then about 30-60 sec. later the flame comes back on. It continuously does this during cook time. Thanks.

It sounds like yous stove is working fine. Cycles fine. If you think the stove is cycling more often than when new then ck the seal on the door. You may be loosing heat.

No flame

when this happens it is usually because of a faulty flame/gas safety valve.

Kenmore gas oven model 91136519 from 1992 . The stove top burner work as well as the oven broiler. But the bake mode of the oven will not come on. What could be the problem?

Faulty temp. control...The variable temperature portion is faulty, but broiler function FULL ON GAS is ok...Replace the Temp control assembly.

Kenmore oven doesnt bake

Can I assume that you determined that the bottom burner flame is burning properly? To do this, remove the oven bottom insert. The flames should have approximately 1" of blue cone and should burn with no yellowing tip, if on natural gas. (A small yellow tip on the end of the outer cone is normal with most LP gas.) The flmaes should not lift off the burner ports. If the flame is lifting, gradually reduce the air shutter until the flame stabilizes.

Oven takes 5 minutes to come on (ignite).

Replaced the igniter. The parts guy told me that the amperage changes with age and use; thus the igniter still glows, but it takes much longer to operate the gas valve with the reduced amperage. Cost - $70.14

Where is the pilotlight on a ge xl44 gas stove I belive it is in the door under the oven well I turned the gas on and stuck a flame down there and nothen took off is there a certian place to put the flame....

In general lets be clear. The OVEN pilot is located under the oven door at the top of the Broiler. It is a small piece of metal just before the GAS safety Valve which acts on temperature so gas won't flow unless Pilot is lit,That's the OVEN PILOT.The stove's RANGE is the top burners where you heat Pots and Pans.It has either 2 Pilot lights that connect the burners to the Flame they are under the Range Top.Newer Models use electronic ignitions no flame. Please note if you had your stove/oven disconected or Gas off when you turn it back on there will be air in the line that needs to escape before you light. This is why in NYC when Utility Co.works on steet main the MUST re-light your appliances.Be Careful with Gas.Good Luck.

Oven burner flame is low

0000000.jpgOn top of that safety valve is a nut. Get a good fitting wrench. Turn on the oven and use that good fitting wrench on that nut. Turn it counterclockwise till the flame comes up about midways of the flame spreader. Don't get the flames too high. Midways of the spreader now. LOL

Kenmore gas stove Model 790

It could be that the sensor wire that controls the main gas valve is out of position. It should sit in the pilot light flame.
Look, and adjust if needed.
If it's ok, then you need a replacement main gas safety valve.
This should only be fitted by qualified personnel.
They do give up eventually after years of heating, and fail safe.
