Being a former tier III technical trainer for Cingular Wireless we encountered this a lot. I am assuming that you had complete service prior to this and that the wireless bill is current, what has happened is that your handset has lost it's connection to the wireless towers and what you need to do is simply turn the handset (phone) off and wait a minute and then power it back on. At this point, you will press and hold the # 1 button and make sure that you can connect to your voicemail. If you are able to dial out then chances are that you can receive calls as well, but to be sure you will want to call your cell # and see if your handset/phone rings. To test your text messaging ability you can simply text yourself by entering your phone number where you would normally input someone else's and type the word test in the text field and then send it. This will test both your ability to send and receive text. If this does not work, then I would recommend calling your wireless provider, as there may be an outage in your area or an issue with your account. Hope this helps
This is a small glitch, (unless you have no credit on your account that is)
While the phone is powered on. remove the battery & take out the sim wait 30 seconds and then replace your sim and battery.
That should have you up and running again.
