Are you trying to reset the password for Ratings or re-initialize the unit to all factory defaults?

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-SC-HT730-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/356ci961/t/2/

Page 27 shows one instance of INIT.

Re-initialize Setting

This returns all values in the Setup menus to the default settings.

≥Yes: The password screen is shown if "Ratings" (??? page 26) is set. Please enter the same password. After "INIT" on the display disappears, turn the unit off and on again.
≥No

Page 36 shows how to reset everything.

You have forgotten your ratings password. Reset all the settings to Factory Preset.

While stopped and "DVD/CD" is the source, press and hold ['Square Icon' button for STOP] on the main unit and [S10] on the remote control until "Initialized" disappears from the television. Turn the unit off and on again. All settings will return to the default values.

I have a Panasonic home theater sound system model# sa-ht730 and there is not a place for any power to go

That's because it is not a stand alone system. In fact the power goes into the subwoofer box and then a cable feeds from that to the unit into the smaller of the sockets on the lower left of the picture.

You can download the full user manual here!

How do I know if oys a fuse blown

I had the same trouble to reset this machine into factory setting and finally, I found out. Let's do this way.
- Leave your remote away as you won't need it
- Turn off the the unit to STANDBY mode
- Press and hold STRAIGHT button on the unit and press Power button while you are holding it. This will turn on the machine.
- Once the machine turns on, press PROGRAM to select the items on LCD display until it shows INIT **** CANCEL
- Press STRAIGHT button until it shows INIT **** ALL
- Press Power to turn off the machine.
- Leave it for 2 sec. then turn on the machine again.
Now your unit turns to factory default setting.

SA-HT730

Fixed Mine!!!!

My Home theatre started to do the same thing today and I manged to get it going again by reseting the ratings password and changing the batteries in my remote. Oddly enough, I have never set a ratings password so I suspect the batteries caused the issue. Seems to be back to normal. Instructions for the reset are in the manual. Here's a link to the online one at Panasonics website http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SAHT730.PDF
