I would not post my email address on a website for the public to see. The sending unit in the tank grounds the gauge with a resistor. The more gas in the tank the less resistance in the circuit. Someone would need to unplug the wiring harness at the tank and check the circuit with a meter.
Check to see it th chain guides are worn. this can cause a retarded or advance on timing. Also do a compression check if you can, this will show that the valves are opening and closing on time. Run some injection cleaner through it first as a sticky injector could also be an issue.
