Using HDMI? The HDMI SETUP will tell the HDMI to receive the digital audio if the HDMI source (WII) is also setup to send the audio through the HDMI cable, so you need to check the HDMI sound setup at the TV and at the Wii.
Or you can use analog audio RCA jacks, but you still need to set up the TV and the Wii to send audio through analog ports.

My wii comes on and you can hear the sounds but no picture and i have it all hooked up to the right things but still no pic.help

Hello.

Are you using RCA to connect it (red, yellow, white wires)? Try another port on your TV. The video slot of your TV might be malfunctioning. Depending on your TV, they usually have ports infront and at the back.

Trying to hook my Wii up using the AV audio Jacks

Connect the Wii to your television. Then connect the variable audio output from the TV to the audio in on the monitor section of the receiver. Then use the TV/SAT input selection on the receiver and dolby prologic 2 as your sound mode.

How to hook up wii to surround sound

Put all the wires to the tv. Now you need another A\V cable (yellow, red, white) only use red and white from, audio out on tv to audio in on surround system and set it to TV. OR Put the red and white from Wii to surround system and the yellow to the tv. this way you have to use surround to hear it. The other way you can use the tv or both. The first way is ideal if you have an extra cable.

Video is black and white

Are you using the same SCART socket that you use for your other consoles or a different one? My SCART3 input on my Panasonic telly has two different modes - one which displays in colour, and one which displays in a sort of grainy black n' white. There is a purpose to it but I can't remember what it is. :-)

Anyway, you switch between the two by pushing the AV button and then hitting the colour button which corresponds to SCART3 a few times 'til you reach the correct setting.

It probably isn't that, but... y'know. Sanity check.

Tune your tele and check you've got it on the right PAL/NTSC setting.
