I have an ACER Aspire laptop that i would like to connect to my Samsung Series 5 500 tv but in the manual it only explains how to connect a PC how do i hook up my laptop to my tv?

Make sure TV is set to connecting input port, like VGA or S-Video. "New Display" should appear on laptop.

You should just have to plug in the pc and tv with the hdmi cable and go to the input options on the tv and select either hdmi 1 or 2.

HI,
there is cable converter that you can use which is a vagfe to hdmi. you can get it from any computer shop.

on the left side i think !! u have a yellow connector named Svideo !! if u have the cable corresponding this connector, connect it to ur TV via the Video input and press ( fn + F5 ) on ur laptop.
if u need audio !! connect the audio output of ur laptop to the audio input of ur tv with an audio double layer cable.

hi if you laptop has the s-video you can connect that to the tv an it would work

You get the audio from PC: you must use a separate audio cable to your TV audio input.
Configure your PC Display properties to a lower resolution until you reach a format your tv can display.
If you use a flat digital screen check the manual to know the resolution to be used with VGA input.
Use Dual screen option or swittch main screen/external/both using FN key + blue key showing screen on your keyboard. (F4 or F7? check manual.)
