Tip & How-To about Audio Players & Recorders

Sony ebook Reader is Frozen, Not charging

The Sony Reader used a special type of display; the LCD can retain an image without having power. It takes power while changing the pages. In most of the cases, if the power is fully discharged, the LCD will keep the last image that was displayed it makes an impression that the Reader is frozen. However, the Actual thing is, the screen retains the last image on the screen and there is no power to change the pages. These type of situations can be resolved by charging the Reader sufficiently.
Each step in my solution is a possible resolution. Hence I suggest thatyou perform each step and check the operation.

  1. Charge the battery fully by connecting to a computer or by using a compatible AC Adaptor. It may take a few minutes (up to 15 minutes) to displaythe charging symbol if the Reader is fully drained in its last use.
  2. Once the reader is charged fully (at least 45 minutes), slide the power button to turn ON.
  3. Perform a softreset. We can perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button on the Reader.
  4. After the RESET button has been pressed, slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader device again. If the Indicator light nextto the power button on the Reader device is yellow, the unit is attempting to start up. If this is the case, allow it a few moments to complete startup.
  5. If the Reader is still not charging up properly, connect the Reader to computer or AC Adaptorand then press the reset button.
  6. Disconnect the Reader device from the computer (if applicable) and then slide the POWER switch to activate the Readerdevice. Check if the Indicator light next to the powerswitch on the Reader device is yellow (indicating it is turning on) and if the unit is responding.
If the unit isstill frozen, connect it again to the computer or AC adapter and while connected, check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader device is red. If this light is red , allow the Reader device tocharge for one hour sothere is sufficient charge for troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, perform a hard reset to resolve the issue. Please follow the steps to perform a hard reset:

how do i replace the backlight on my sony vgn-fj1s

It's much easier to just replace the screen than trying to replace the back light. Save yourself the trouble and buy a new screen on ebay.

I have sony v1, unfortunately it was dropped, now the problem arises that you can see previous stored pics in lcd but when you want to capture the image, nothing is displayed and if you take the picture it will display nothing. I will really appreciate your quick response

Hi,

Based on the information you've provided it seems that the CCD Image Sensor of the Camera is affected which displays the live view of the Camera and the image which get captured. If the Image Sensor is affected, the previous views of the images and the icons will get displayed as normally, but the live view and the captured images will be distorted or blacked out. You may try power resetting to check if the issue can be resolved.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Sony cybershot P200 says 'File Error'

Hi,

The LCD screen may display a FILE ERROR message when trying to view a still image on the camera if the image was rotated, modified and overwritten using editing software on a computer. To play images you have taken on the camera, it is recommended that you do not make any changes to the original image files. I suggest that you transfer the images from the Camera to the computer and check if it works. After transferring the images, get the Memory formatted from the Camera and start capturing new images. The edited images will not get displayed in the Camera again. Please try not to edit the images in the Computer without transferring it.

Thanks.
