From your description there are two issues, the first is the papers in the tray are not been picked up, second! it is very noisy when attempting a print job. The gears are mostly plastic and have worn to the point that papers can no be scooped up, and finally the noise confirms ware and tare on the system. The cost to repair will be high! this is where a personal choice will need to be made weather to fix or replace, if you use it constantly then I would recommend a replacement.

Paper from Tray doesn't load.

put paper in the upper slot (known as the MP), pull all paper from lower tray, send document to print and see if it prints ok - if it does, the problem may be with the lower print drawer - there is a spring under metal pad that lifts paper so it's grabbed by the printer paper transport. the spring may have broken or become dislodged so separation pad (the metal plate holding paper up) remains down - the transport "thinks" there is no paper

Problems printing to Brother MFC 8660DN printer

Pull the paper tray, likley a small black lever to the left of the roller called the edge actuator is dislodged and hanging down. When in position the actuator should easily push up and appear flat next to the roller.

I cant get the machine to grab the paper and it says its out of paper, yet its not out of paper.

Hi, the Ip3000 has 3 different feeding trays...
make sure that the printer is trying to "grab" the paper in the tray that you have chosen to use in the printer properties box...
when you give the print command can you see the rubber roller moving to grab the paper in the top feeder tray???
if the roller that feeds the printer is not moving you may have accidentally changed the settings to grab paper from the bottom tray...the one right under the door that opens to let printed pages out of the printer...
the 3rd feeder tray is the DVD/CD printing tray...
I suggest that you look at the printer Properties for remedial action...
hope this helps you with your problem...
cheers

p.s.
suggest you place paper in the bottom tray before making adjustments to see if it is trying to grab the paper from there...

Dell 922 All-in one ink jet printer paper feed

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Prints a couple of pages - then jams

Well, for now it seems to be fixed - I opened up the paper tray and there is a little part that grabs the paper on the front of the tray - kinda sticky - I just took a paper cutter and put a couple of scratches on it and it is grabbing the paper for now. I do have some of those to use for replacements - but I had just changed it about a month ago and don't think it needed to be changed out again - they usually last quite a while. So, we'll see how long this lasts. We do a lot of printing on this thing and it has been a great printer - maybe we are just wearing it out!

Paper not feeding

Is this a top feed - that is paper loaded on top at the back bottom feed from a tray underneath? Top feed take one sheet of paper and gently push it down whilst the printer is trying to grab it. Tray feed - take tray out make sure no paper fragments are in the tracks and find a nail board and gently abrade the pick up rollers.
