Hi,
On the motherboard the pinouts on the front panel should be colour coded, and marked with letters like in this picture >>>>>
installing back my power switch - ce10baf.jpg

The connectors are also marked corresponding to where the connect on the motherboard, like in this picture >>>>>>
66ce2fc.jpg

If the board is not colour coded then the motherboard will marked with the same letters, you may need a strong light and a magnifying glass to see the marks and they are usually at the bottom right of the motherboard.

Regards.

I have installed a new motherboard in an acer case. The power cable from the switch on the front of the case will not connect to the board. Can anyone help? Thank you

You should read the motherboard manual, for cabling:
1. Power SW
2. Reset SW
3. HDD led
4. Power led - and power led +
5. Speaker

Cabling scheme, also written on the motherboard.

If the Power SW not installed the switch on does not work.
If the Reset SW not installed the switch reset does not work
If the HDD led
not installed the hard drive light (red) is not lit
If the Power led (+/-) not installed the power light (yellow) is not lit
If the Speakers are not installed, when the computer is on the beep sound is not heard.

I hope this information helps.

Accidently un-setaed three jump switches --Power EW,Power LED, HD

If your talking about the pins on the mother board for the on power switch, HDD LED, reset, power led, and system speaker you would need to note the make and model of *********** board. If you look very closely you should see little letters for example , PWS, HDD,RST,PCS,PLED, These mach up to the pins on the motherboard. also most commonly the PC speaker has an open pin so it will be 3 pins long and not just 2. To find the make and model of a motherboard you can find a name and a group of numbers something like " Intel A33Y97 " and then google for more information if needed.

> power led,

Runs to the LED (Light Emitting Diode) labelled "power" on the front of your computer-case

> H.D.D led,

Runs to the front-panel LED that lights-up whenever the Hard Disk Drive is being used.

> reset sw,

Runs to the "reset" button on the front panel.

Runs to the internal speaker

Very briefly touch a metal-tip screwdriver between these 2 pins.
If the computer powers-on, you've found the "power" connector.

TRYING TO HOOK UP MU POWER BUTTON NEED TO KNOW

Hi there
The front panel connectors are mainly,
  • harddisk activity connector
  • power switch connector
  • reset switch connector
  • power LED connector
  • speakers connector
  • USB connector
Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

I tried several different cards but no luck. Cards work ok on other computers.

5V Stand-By Indicator LED
The power supply will always supply a 5V standby voltage to your
motherboard so that it can power on via for example Wake On Lan
technology. This LED shows that your power supply is supplying
this standby voltage to your motherboard.n :D

You may need to replace your power supply, if the LED is flashing, it's not supplying the power the motherboard needs.
