Question about HP Pavilion zv5410US Notebook

1 Answer

I want to know which memory to buy for my pc. I checked it on crucial.com and it said I could upgrade to 1gb. When I looked inside the cover I saw a 256mb memory chip but could not see how many slots it has. The total it has now is 512mb. Thanks

Hello, here's a part of the spec from the hp website. It looks like you've got 256mb on board memory and one expansion memory slot in which you can fit a 1024mb card, giving you a max memory of 1280mb (1024+256).
Hope this helps!

I want to add 4GB of DDR3 memory, what further info to I need to know about the memory?

Newegg has a great site to find the correct and most compatible memory for you Here.
To maximize your ram speed, use the same speed and types of ram

For example, if you have a 1GB right now, add three more 1GB than putting in a 2GB and 1GB.
If you have a 4GB ram stick right now, add another 4GB and not 2x2GB. Also make sure the MHz on the ram is the same, (1333, 1600, 2000)

Enjoy upgrading your computer!

Why wont board recognize 1gb ram stick? are there

The Crucial website has the compatible RAM for this system, and they have Dell's full specs on your desktop. If you are trying another brand you might have an incompatible stick of RAM.
Some PC's are very finicky about what RAM will work with them.
Here is the site (complete with price list) for your model.

If you are hesitant about buying another module, you might also want to test the module in another PC or try a different 1GB module in your computer.

How do you remove and replace dell laptop memory? (d600)

I dont know this particular model, but usually it's underneath the computer, there is one screw to remove and you can take out a door which gives you acess to the memory slots. If it's not there, you will need to remove the top cover to get there. But it's most likely a small door underneath the laptop.

I want upgrade my memory in my Acer Aspire mod. 1694 WLMi, how to do that and which kind of memory I mast buy?

It looks like you've got DDRII memory. According to Crucial http://crucial.com you can place up to 2GB of memory on your machine. (1GB in each slot) If you're unsure, remove one of your existing memory sticks to verify that it's DDRII.

Hello!

Hi,

I think the best solution to your problem would be either to go to www.crucial.com or www.tigerdirect.com . They both have memory configurator tools that will make sure the memory that you are purchasing is compatable with your laptop. That is your safest way to know. I myself prefer tiger direct, they seem to have the lowest prices. the link below will take you right to the memory configurator. If the DDR333 is an option it will let you know. Hope this helps! :)

Good place to check how much or what kind of ram you need. Let them do a scan, or put in what pc you have. It's safe to use.
