Missing: m578 ' Must include: m578
normally this error means you have a bad fuser assembly. These items are normally a customer replaceable part. If replacing the fuser assembly does not correct the error code you may have a bad power supply board.
X is in your case 3 : FUSER MOTOR STARTUP ERROR. Y is in your case 0 : NO COLOR
The service manual says:
1. Reconnect the connectors for the fuser motor and on the DC controller PCB. Replace any damged parts. 2. Replace the fuser drive assembly. 3. Replace the DC controller PCB. Calibrate the printer after replacing the DC controller.
On the HP 2
series you have to replace both the dc controller and formatter boards.
On all other printers it can be several things: DC controller,
formatter, main motor
Try this
Remove all EIO devices and memory Dimm's execpt the firmware dimm.
Start the printer. If the error is gone then place the dimm's / EIO devices one by one.
(Don't forget to switch off the printer.)
If the error is still there then you might have a faulty firmware dimm.
The printer's memory probably catastrophically failed if it never makes it past power-on. Or the logic board is toast. So maybe call HP technical support and present them with the idea that the memory or main system board is dead. They will probably refer you to someone who will gladly take your money.
Another option, if the printer is still under warranty you could ship it back to HP and have them fix/replace it.
