The home theater box performs the production of the sound generation. Also, the theater box, distributes the sound to any display devices like TVs, Music MIxers, DVDR, VCRs, ext. The theater box also has connection ports that are recognisable as receptacle area from speakers, woofers, and twitters that combined to form the home theater of devices acquired. First, start by connecting the component parts of the theater system to the box. For example, speakers to an area on the box, twitters, woofers. At which point, the box would require a power cable to an electrican circuit to display functionality mode. The next step is deciding on which display reciver would be providing sound to the theater setup of blasters. For example, choosing to acquire sound from a TV set is achieved by connection cables that derived sound out of the TV to the theater box. E.G. The TV audio output area provides the connectivity of any external audio blasters like with the theater setup. Using the appropiate audio input output connection cables to acquire sound transfer matters. The device may not have been provided with a TV audio input out cable of connections. Acquire from retail input output cables from TV to theater boxes. Remember that, the theater box may have come with a remote control that require separe operations than the TV. The theater system theraafter would require power on buttons if any separate remote controls were acquired as well. Also, the television set would require alteration settings with the remote control. Adjusting the TV sound settings to acquire or direct internal sound to an external setup infrusture is possible explanation also achievable with TV REMOte controller soon after every wireing cables have been established alos powered on to source of current. Hook mz506 surround sound to my Samsung tv

Typically surround sound is run through a receiver or stereo. The sound from the tv is carried to the receiver by cables (hdmi or Audio-Video connected to input area of receiver). Then the speakers are connected to the output area of the receiver.
If you are not using a receiver, then the speakers must be able to connect directly to the tv and you have to see what kind of cabling your tv supports.

I'm trying to connect a Samsung HD LCD tv to a Denon AVR1508 receiver using HDMI cable so that the TV sound comes thru the receiver/speakers. which jack do I use (on both the tv and the receiver,

connect the hdmi to the tv (hdmi input 1) and to the receiver (hdmi output) you must make sure that the receiver input settings are assigned correctly. Then hook up all of your devices to the receiver. remember that the 1508 dosent do hdmi upconversion, so if you have any devices that are NOT hdmi, you need to run rca cables from the output of you receiver to the input of your tv. If you have any digital inputs coming out of your devices, i would recommend using them. your 1508 has two inputs that are assignable.
If all of your devices are hooked up to your receiver, and its hooked up to your tv properly, just turn down the sound on your tv, and turn up the volume on your denon!

Just bought the RCA1023 and i have a buzzing sound trying to fix it i have it hooked to my tv through the HDMI cable i also have the audio cords (red and white) hooked up and i am still getting a very...

Buzzing is usally AC line noise leaking into an un-shielded cable somewhere or a floating ground. If the AC plug is reversible, try that. Sometimes the buzz is from an attached device. Make sure all audio cables are plugged in tightly at each end and routed away from or at right angles to any power cords and away from other sources of strong magnetic fields like TV's. I've also seen variable track lights induce noise but it's usually minor.

Try rotating the power cord in the wall outlet.

If it still does it with no cables or anything external attached it

I cannot get any sound to the speakers, hooked up receiver to new HD tv and not what input source or settings to use??

Hi, it's a general process to connect any receiver to a HD TV.

How to Hook Up a Receiver to an HDTV

Things You'll Need:

* HD television
* HD satellite or cable receiver
* DVD player
* Stereo receiver
* AV cables
* Cable connector
* HDMI cables

Though it utilizes the most sophisticated technology on the plant, an HDTV is extremely easy to hook up to a receiver. Home entertainment systems are designed for compatibility, whether it is a cable or satellite receiver, a DVD player or a stereo sound system.

Instructions

Examine the back of your HDTV. You will see a series of input jacks for AV cables, (typically color-coded white and red for audio and yellow for video), as well as an antenna input and one or more HDMI input jacks. There will likely be a number of them, but each one should be distinguished with a label ("video," "cable" or something similar).

Attach the cable connector from the cable or satellite receiver to the antenna input on the back of the TV.

Connect the AV cables to the DVD player, VCR, stereo receiver or whichever other component you wish to connect to the television. The cables should line up by color: place the white cable in the white input jack, the red cable in the red input jack and the yellow cable in the yellow input jack. All three cables from each component need to go into the same label input jacks. Usually, they will all line up in a vertical row.

Find the HDMI output jack on your receiver or DVD player (some receivers will not have them--they are necessary to receive a high definition signal--but can still play on the TV through the cable connector or AV cables). Attach one end of an HDMI cable to the output jack of the receiver and the other end into the input jack on the HDTV.

Turn on the TV. Access the menu with your remote, and follow any instructions it gives you. Your HDTV may require a few additional steps to complete the hookup of the receiver (though not all of them will).

Access the "input" button on your TV remote. This will allow you to switch the TV signal to one of the cable connections you have just made. For example, if you attached the HDMI cable to the first of two HDMI input jacks, the TV will flash "HDMI 1" on the screen to tell you that is where it is receiving its signal.

Tips & Warnings

Not everything that can be hooked up to an HDTV is capable of playing in high definition. The signal needs to be HD as well, which means that only HD broadcasts, HD DVDs and Blu-Ray DVDs can play in full high definition (though "upgrade" DVD players will allow normal DVDs to play at an enhanced picture). You can still hook receivers up to an HDTV, and it will still play broadcasts from them as clearly as the signal permits.

Hope it helps.

Good luck..

I have a LG LHB335 Blu-Ray home theater system, & a LG TV I can get Full surround sound when the blu-ray is play a DVD but not when just watching Reg TV. I use a HDMI, should I hook up sonething else ?...

LG documentation states:

When you use SIMPLINK function, you have to

connect to the OPTICAL IN 1 jack to enjoy TV
sound to your speaker system.

Basically you need to have the Audio go from TV to receiver and setup receiver to that Input to output surround sound to all speakers.

If you have a cable box or satellite receiver, hook that output into the receivers input and that should work.

My setup is DirectTv HDMI output goes into the LG Home Theater HDMI Input 1, and LG goes HDMI output into the TV HDMI input 1.
so to watch DirectTV, I switch LG Home theater to HDMI Input 1. and TV is on HDMI input 1 (to view LG HDMI output from DriectTV, Blu-Ray, Vudu, etc.)

No video on Denon avr 688

After days of frustration the real problem was with the cable box. It needed a firmware update. Following forum advice I disconnected the cable box power cord for a few minutes, reconnected it, allowed the cable box to reinitialize. Turned off receiver and TV. Turned TV back on and set it to HDMI connection, turned on receiver and all worked fine. Great picture and sound.( Needed to buy an optical cable to go from the cable box to the receiver to get sound from the speaker system. )--the dirtybird

Speaker crackle

HDMI is a High Definition Multimedia Interface and has the capability to transmit both AUDIO and VIDEO all in one cable. Your setup right now is transmitting 2 audio frequecys (L/R stereo RCA and HDMI) into the Denon inputs. Not necessary! I would recommend eliminating the red/white audio cable from the direct tv box to the Denon.

After doing such, your receiver should be able to process audio/video signals appropriately. REMEMBER to unplug all POWER CORDS before reconnecting any speaker/audio/video cable, as it may cause a small electrical surge and fry a micro component in your system!

Setting up Cable with HDMI

Yes, the firmware on your hdtv box has an old firmware, I switched my old hdtv box with a newer one box and the problem was solved. It seems that it can't work if your hooking up with DVI to HDMI cable to your receiver to tv. Your hd box must have an HDMI out otherwise it causes problems. I also have rx-v661 and i finally hooked up everything HDMI to the receiver and then to the tv and it was having the problem you speak of. After I switched out the hd box for a newer one everthing worked fine.

DENON AVR 888

hi dennon guy

you need to connect all your components to your receiver then from the receiver to the tv via the monitor out at the back of your receiver.

you need to make sure they are all the same type of cables. ie if you are using hdmi then make sure the dvd is hdmi output to hdmi input of the receiver then the receiver is hdmi output to the input of the tv. This will give you the best setup.

of course if u use component cables then the same principles applies.

good luck
