Liebherr Fridge (KES3660) is freezing at the bottom (bottled water turns to ice) and too warm at the top. The internal ventilator fan does appear to work as sometimes it is spinning when the fridge door is opened; or at least we got it spinning when we turned it on via the vent fan button. I'm guessing that there are sensors top and bottom to control when the compressor cools and when the fan mixes the internal air. I would assume one of the sensors has goon wrong with the result that the rrige is now no longer automatically turning the fan on. Question is "would you agree with diagnosis" and what is the chances of my purchasing the parts and replacing myself?

SOURCE: liebherr frost free fridge/freezer

Try these solutions in these order:
1. Switch off the fridge and leave the door open overnight. Switch it back on in the morning.
Explanation: The sensor inside the fridge gets frozen and cannot control the temperature properly.
2. Switch off the fridge. Unplug it. At the back of the fridge (behind the unit, not inside) there is a large grid. Clean it with a hoover thoroughly. Open the fridge. Dry the back of the fridge if wet (inside the fridge). If frosted wait for it to defrost and then dry it. Plug in the fridge. Switch the fridge back on. This one worked for me.
Explanation: The dust in the grid deprives the fridge from cooling down and the unit can't control the temperature in the fridge section.
3. Switch off the fridge. -Unplug it. Empty it. Turn it upside down. Plug it in. Switch it on for 24 hours. Switch it off. Unplug, return to normal and switch on.
Explanation: This has to do with the pressure of the gas inside the compressor. I have not tried it but this advice as given to me by a qualified electrician when I commented the (in)famous F2 problem in Liebherr fridge/freezers.
Hope it helps. Regards. Albert

The ventilator fan causes the water to evaporate from the drain pan. There may also be a heater element to do it as well. Without it nothing is making the water evaporate so it is overflowning. Might be the fan motor or the switch that is a problem.

LIEBHERR CBNes 39560 Fridge - ice in the drainage trough on the back?

Question edited for correct spelling of the maker.
Question moved to maker category.

Check the temperature of the fridge with a digital thermometer. I should be 5' centigrade. It may be set too cold and freezing condensation running on the rear wall. Also make sure the circulation fan is working. It looks like it is the round disc at the top rear.

Push a flexible net curtain wire down the drain until it appears above the compressor pan.

You can also try cleaning the drainage trough, dry it and spray it with dry silicone spray or even WD40 if you don't mind the smell. That will stop water sticking.

Liebherr freezer door left partially open overnight, now not freezing properly

Are the condenser fins free of fluff. If they are partially blocked, fridges struggle in this weather. Also pull the mains plug for 10 minutes, to effect a power reset to the control board.

Freezer not freezing & fridge warm at top and freezing at bottom.

Check and see if you have a fan that is not working. A condenser fan might just be your problem. The air is not circulating right. If this isn't the solution try turning the frig off for a couple of hours to see if it will correct the problem. BB

How to check everything

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Liebherr f/f, drain gully is retaining water, drain hole is clean

the fridge probably isn't quite level - or tilt the side that is holding the water slightly so it down to the drain hole - 1/8" could make the difference
