I'd treat this symptom as "DISPLAY not lit and power indicator is flashing rapidly." under Troubleshooting on Page 60.

and I'd evaluate the speaker load you're presenting to make sure it's effectively higher than 6-0hms per speaker channel.

Getting out of protect mode I have a Denon 787 receiver. It was working fine for 8 months. All of sudden, my reciever goes into protect mode after playing for about 30 min. Right after it goes into protect...

most of the receivers come with a cooling fan inside see if its working they usually work when you turn the volume up,, if its working that means you are playing it to loud if you lower the volume a little it will play just fine..( if the fan inside is not working thats the reason it goes into protect mode and it means you must have it repaired,, it goes into protect mode to prevent furter damage to the unit or the speakers,,

Protect is ON

Either there is a bad capacitor in the protection unit or you can find the wire that goes from volume control to protection unit and unplug it.
You can also try turning the volume all the way off before turning on, then slowly turn up from there

Amp comes on and goes right into protection mode I turn on my Denon stereo receiver AVR-1500 an it goes to protection mode? Can someone please help me?

Do you still have the AVR1500? I have one with a bad tuner--and would be interested in purchasing your for parts. Let me know if you still have it and if you'd be willing to sell it.

Onkyo ts595 goes into protect mode with volume increase

HI check your speaker cables are not touching, also make sure "b" speakers are not on and that all your speakers are 4ohm or higher as this will cause the amp to shut down if they are to low an impedeance,The amp is protecting itself when it shuts down.

hope this helps.

Denon avr-5600 protection circuit.

My AVR 5600 has worked flawlessly for nearly 9 years!

Suddenly, when trying to play music (DVD or CD) through my LS32's (JBLPro), once I achieve higher volume, the receiver cuts off.... Using a Symetrex mixer, NO OVERLOAD light on the Denon, it simply cuts off!

Re-cut all the wire connectors... TV movies (5.1) work great at normal listening volumes.... but tonight, when cranking up music, the receiver simply cut off. Blinking light...

Eltax avr-200 no sound

Eltax AVR-200 will start up in protection mode if the amplifer went into protection mode due to high volume before it was turned OFF and it will start at the same volume level as it had before power OFF.

To correct this you must shift to another input without signal, then turn the volume down before it goes into protection mode again.

Denon AVR-810 going into PROTECTION mode

It sounds like there is a problem with the differential circuit. The bias I am not sure about, as every unit is different. You should get the service manual to be sure or call Denon and see if they can give you an idea. Good Luck
