The recomendations I received were not useful - 1 did not work and the other was to replace the system. I am sending the phoine out to be repaired instead.

Please credit ny card back the $10.

Hi Jim.

About the problem with the answer received, you should write to [email protected] They usually reply within next working day.

About the system, if you have not sent the system for repair yet, you should do a full system power reset. This is done performing the following, simply disconnecting the power adapter won't be enough:

  • Disconnect all power adapter cables from wallsockets.
  • Remove all handsets from cradles.
  • Remove all battery from cradles.
  • Fit back the batteries in their handsets.
  • Place back handsets in their cradles.
  • Connect power cables.

The procedure above will reset the system and will re-sync handsets to cradles. If that does not work, then some of the units in the system is defective.

I wanted to remind that the feedback given to the expert does not afftect refund procedure, and do not affect your status. In some case I get negative feedback while trying to help dissatisfied
askers in troubles with Fixya service. That is not really nice and pleasant. :)

All the best.

Ginko.

Unplug the power and phone cords from the wall outlet and let it sit for 30 minutes or more "the longer the better" This may reset the processor ic back into normal operation, if it fails! the only solution is replace your phone system, because the repair to your phone would not be cost effective.

Check your user's manual for registration, or RE-REGISTER the handset to the base. In essence, it involves stepping to the registration on the handset, pushing the handset locator button on the base, then saying OK on the handset. They will sync up.

The handset is away from the range of the base. Keep the handset on the base for some time and then try again.

Model#kx-tg6071b when talk button is pushed, screen shows" no link to base move closer, try again". That is what appears on both handsets.

Press MENU, scroll down to INITIAL SETTINGS (press select), scroll down to REGISTRATION (press select), then select HS REGISTRATION, and follow the instructions on the handset screen. This is for the KX-TG6071B, but is similar for most Panasonic Cordless phones. That will link the handset to the base, and YOU MUST DO IT WITH EACH HANDSET.

Re-Register!

That's right.

Wait, don't look for any product registration card you think you still have. You probably threw that away with the packaging the first day you opened it.

On the Handset:
Know which handset you have (#1 or #2)
Menu --> Initial Setting --> Registration
The Handset will say follow the instruction on the manual which you don't have.

Now, go to the base unit:
Press and Hold the Handset # button (#1 or #2), until you see the display on the base unit changes.
You can release the # button now.
Press <select> button on the handset.
Wait until you hear beep.
You're done!

No link to base move closer to base

Your getting this message because the radio portion of the handset or/and base is not communicating with each other. This can be temporary or fatal. You can try re-registering the handset(s) to the base by following the directions in the manual, its fairly easy to do for any model. If that does not work, and you have more than one handset not working with this problem, then it sounds as if your base needs repair or replacing.
