I think that the key is to use the term "harness" when searching for this information.
I would contact Crutchfield.com and try to purchase a ready-made wiring harness for your vehicle. Hopefully they can sell you one without having to purchase a stereo from them. The harness will plug directly into the Transit's existing stereo plug and they you solder it to the harness that came with your head unit. This make your new head unit plug match the factory head unit plug so you don't have to make any modifications to the factory harness. Very good when you want to restore the vehicle to its orginal state.
