You need to format drive with a os disk first and then re clone your drive
I try to get help but didnt get it I am still with the same problem not even close to get it resolve!
what i mean is that you cant just and in a cloned hd , as your laptop wont no what to load,
so if you insert your new hd and do a fresh install of you os (windows) and then do a system restore with your save cloned image .

Dead PC
Possibly a RAM issue or errors on the
hard drive stopping the display driver from working properly. Remove
power sources, remove RAM and hard drive. See if you get a display
when the power adapter is reconnected. If you do, remove power source
and fit RAM, (if not motherboard may be faulty). Repeat and if still
working, remove power, fit Hard Drive and boot again.
Assuming
your OS is Windows Based;
Reboot and use safe mode run CHKDSK/F
and when finished check the drivers.
Hope that helps.
