No, if you changed the photoconductor kit, then you just need to reset the maintenace count for the PE Kit.

Please follow this hyperlink to the specific instructions you need on Lexmarks web site.

http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=content&id=HO3155&locale=EN&userlocale=EN

they are easy to follow directions and you should have no problems.

We are receiving the error message "84 oc life exhausted". What can we do to solve?

84 PC Life Exhausted indicates that the photoconductor unit has reached its functional life. The photoconductor kit will need to be replaced. The printer will not function so long as the Exhausted message remains on the display. The only way to clear the message is to install a new photoconductor. After replacing the photoconductor unit, you need to manually reset the pc page counter as well. Thank you for choosing Lexmark.

What shoud I do when error 84 replace

Hello,
Photoconductor is the part of the printer where the image gets created this is a very delicate and important part in the Laser printing process. If you open the printer and remove the toner, you should see it sometimes is like a green or blue color. The message 84 is just telling you that the photoconductor has reached the end of life and needs to be replace. Here is also a link on how to do the replacement http://bit.ly/bn2HFc
