Are attachments for a KitchenAid K5 compatible with the K55?

That would be incorrect. If the attachment is for a hobart kitchenaid mixer then it will fit all models of kitchenaid mixers including the brand new pro series because the attachment port and drive gear has not been changes since 1925 or 6 when it was first introduce by the Hobart company.

Hobart A200

Yes A-200 are number 12 I would find a hobart grinder they will have a big H in the casting on the neck get one with a stainless pan and stomper to push product down the throat. If you wait on Ebay and put it on your watch list they do come along. look for no rust. Make sure it has the big H in the casting. the other after market ones seem to not last long like the metal wears on the worm and hub to fast. also you always know where to get a piece if you need it if its a Hobart. not so with the forign jobs.

Grinder attachment

Cindy,if it has a screw take it out, grab a flathead screwdriver and work your way around the cap. Some mixers have been painted or just the gunk over the years make the cap hard to pull off.The push button i have never seen on a hobart mixer near the hub.Give me the serial and spec number.

A200 problem

Check the planetary.this is the bottom part of the mixer where you attach the hook.
You will see two nuts; make sure their tight as the planetary may have moved down.
