I have a Belling DB1000DF Range cooker, which stopped heating up last night. Oven was on, light inside on, red light outside on and fan running. Oven had warmed up to about 80 deg, but was not then getting any hotter. Turning the temp knob triggerred the red light on/off as normal. I checked the electric monitor we have and there was no change in amps when turning the temp up/down. I move the function knob from oven/fan to just oven and the amps went up and oven started warming up. The smaller oven is working ok and all other main oven functions work ok (grill, etc) it's just when I select oven and fan that the fan comes on but the oven doesn't heat up. Any help would be appreciated.
Oven is 3 years old and retailer says it should work fault-free for 6 years. We have to call out Belling (at our expense) to repair (probably fan heating element) and then send receipt to retailer to claim a refund of the costs.

Sounds like the cooling fan bearings are worn, hence the noise after you turn the cooker off. This fan is in the top of the oven and helps to keep the inside cooker electrics cool and often keeps going for a while after you have turned the cooker off. Best to call an engineer to check this out for you!
If the fan is working o/k, then it is sure to be the oven element that has failed.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
i assume you mean the casing fan and not the fan inside the oven. this is controlled by a fan stat which is inside the casing. cheap part and easy to fit. iv forgotten the exact location but remember it located at the top
