Yellow is for video; Red and White are intended for Sterno Audio. If your TV has only an yellow RCA socket, connect that Yellow socket with the pin at one end of Yellow wire, and connect the other end pin of that Yellow wire with the direct TV equipment.
Switch On both the devices [TV & DTV box], and select the TV input to AV, and see whether there is Video comes by TV. If yes, look for any AUDIO In socket at the back of the TV, Connect the other wire similarly as you did with yellow wire. For audio, only one wire connected will be enough.
