To extend the number of rings before your phone goes into the answer message option, change the settings for Answer delay option as described below.
You can set number of rings before your phone answer message kicks in. You can set answer message to begin after 2, 4, 6 or 8 rings.
1. Press <Menu> and up down to select ANS Machine
2. Press <OK> and <up/down> to select TAM Settings
3. Press <OK> and <up/down> to select ANSWER DELAY (OPTIONS: 2, 4, 6 OR 8 RINGS)
4. Press <OK> and <up/down> to select to select desired delay.
5. Press <OK> to confirm.
The KX-TG2313 isn't an answering machine. It will ring until you pick up, an answering machine or voicemail system picks up, or the caller hangs up.

THE VOICEMAIL WILL KICK-IN AFTER A CERTAIN NUMBER OF RINGS WHEN NO-ONE ANSWERS. FOR THE FAX MACHINE TO ANSWER PROPERLY IT WILL HAVE TO BE SET TO A LESSER NUMBER OF RINGS....POSSIBLY 2 RINGS LESS TO ENSURE THERE IS NO PICKUP- ANSWER INTERFERENCE FROM THE VOICE-Mail.
Is the answering service set to on? How many rings is it set to? You can try disconnecting from power source for several hours, then press power or other buttons, wait half hour, plug back in and reset the machine.
your service provider will provide you with a code to alter the settings for the answer phone , you can adjust how long before the answer phone kicks in and whether the answer phone is on or off
Try typing the following into your phone, then hitting SEND - replace the words in brackets with the relevant numbers):
**61*(voicemail or diversion phone number)**(seconds delay before diverting)#
This works for "Divert on No Answer". To check the status of this diversion use *#61#
1. Press set button 2. Use next and previous buttons to select number of rings setting and press set. 3. Select the number of rings you want. 4. press set again to save setting.
Your fax machine has a setting for answering on a number of rings, normally between 1 - 4. Check it's settings and lower the number to meet your needs, so the fax picks-up before the answering machine.

Press the 'Change' button Press the 'Setup' button until you hear the voice say "Number of rings" Then use the "Skip" and "Repeat" buttons to change the number. Press the "Change" button to finish.
