I'm not and expert but this helped me, turn of the system and then there is a switch on the back. Turn that switch off and let it sit for about one minute. That should work.
Try reseting your display. To do this turn your ps3 off if it isnt already, turn it back on and continue to hold the power button until you hear the beeps. It should reset your display if that is the problem.
It may be a resolution setting issue...the game may be outputting in a resolution that your tv doesnt support. Try going to your video settings and knocking the resolution back to 720p for your HDMI output....in settings under video, select your ouptut, and uncheck the boxes next to the types above 720p. Also make sure you have latest software update for ps3.
I had the same Motorstorm issue. Was it the Time Trial download by any chance? Unfortunately you'll have to delete the Motorstorm game data (you MAY be able to keep saved games, but I'm not certain) and then you'll find that that Motorstorm miraculously loads up again...
Perheps you should check what is the capacity of your network since resistance is heavier then motorstorm, if this is the case then speak to your supplier.
