I have a 92 Gibson T Bird with ebony fretboard, and a new one with rosewood fretboard. my old TBird doesn't have the brilliance in the highs as the new one does... i changed all the pots yesterday, with cts pots 500K for volume and i got me a gibson original replacement pot 300K for the tone. It does sound a little better (i think) the old pots were only working from 9 to 10 if you rolled it at 8 there was no sound... (they were replaced back in 98 by a technician) and they were all 500K i did discover though that even both basses have ceramic magnets they have different capacitors, the old one has the following info: MP/203M/100V and the new one only states: 223 so what do you think? my old TBird sounds GREAT the only thing is that i want more treble without losing the massive low end it has and the unbelievable growl... Thank you in advance for your time!!!

The most I can suggest for getting the shine back to the bass is to run an EQ before your preamp. Make sure all sliders are set to zero, then raise the higher frequencies until you get the sound you're looking for. This won't lose any growl, just accentuate the brilliance.

The best EQ to use would be a BOSS Bass Equalizer. You can use the same on your old T-Bird to accentuate the lower frequencies, and get almost the same sound.

Hope that helps!

I have a 2015 Gibson LPM with the zero fret nut. I have replaced the brass zero fret nut with the replacement that Gibson sent me. My problem is with the G string not intonating. Other strings r fine.

It's possible the fretboard radius and bridge radius doesn't match so that the zero fret isn't making enough contact. It may be possible to recut either the nut slot or the saddle to get it all to work. Find a good repairman, not a guitar cener guy, or if it was bought new, send it back to Gibson under warranty.

Have new min-etune gibson studio. charged battery, put in, nothing happens. no lights no nothing? Now What

Press down on the battery, which will allow it to pop up, as if you were going to remove it. Press the power "on" button. More than likely, your Min-Etune will now work fine.

Hi I have a Gibson Robot Explorer and have unfortunately lost the charge in the battery. I have tried the Emergency Charge Mode as per the manual but the LED on the charger flashes red and then yellow for...

This is a problem with many batteries if allowed to fully discharge. One of the cells goes flat before the others THEN gets reversed charged as the device is continued to be used. The cell then shorts and the batteery will no longer be capable of charging. Replacing the battery is the solution. There are dangerous things one can do with driving a high chrging current for a few seconds to try and blow the shorted cell open... I would NOT recommend this due to explosion danger.

Open string/saddle buzz on brand new tele. what to do?

Take it in for adjustment/setup. Since it is brand new, exercise your warranty to get it properly setup. Best not to attempt adjustment yourself while under warranty.

I changed pickups in my robot, now it doesn't tune. what could the problem be?

The on-board computer that senses pitch is designed to work with the stock pickups. Changing them makes the computer unable to "hear" the pitch, and therefore unable to automatically tune itself. This is a common problem, but a Gibson authorized technician should be able to correct the problem.

This is one that you'll have to take to a Gibson dealer- not a lot known outside of them, parts aren't readily available. You may need the hardware replaced
