PUK Codes

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from AT&T to unlock your SIM card.

Since I don't know the name of you carrier, I'm using AT&T as an example. Most carriers use the same methodology though the wording may be different.

You can obtain your phone's PUK code from AT&T in one of these ways:

• Log in to myAT&T online
• Use our Technical Support Chat.
• Contact Customer Care

To get your phone's PUK code online:

? Log in to myAT&T.
? From the myAT&T tab at the top of the page, hover over the Wireless link and select Phone/Device under the My Wireless Service heading.
? From the My Phone/Device screen, select the Unblock SIM Card link under the My Make & Model heading.
? The Unblock SIM screen will display your PUK code and will give you instructions for unblocking your SIM Card.

Once you receive your PUK code, you will need to enter it into your phone to set a new PIN code.

Note: If you enter the wrong PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator."

You can also do it without any assistance from anyone, However, be sure to read the following carefully because there are pitfalls.

Although most people remember their primary SIM PIN code, those other codes - used for various verification purposes - are never to be found when needed. Below we've included a set of short codes which, when entered on a handset's standby screen, will let you easily change PIN and PUK (short for Pin Unlock Code) codes - but keep in mind, they may not work with all handsets and mobile operators. If you are interested in a software fix, click on the following link: Universal SIM Lock Remover

More importantly, when changing ones PUK codes there'll be no help to get from the mobile operator if the new codes are forgotten, so make sure to write any changes down alongside the old PUK codes. Also, please note that the codes should be entered without the spaces shown below.

Change SIM Card PIN
** 04 * old PIN * new PIN * new PIN #

Change SIM Card PIN 2 (Write down the new code)
** 042 * old PIN * new PIN * new PIN #

Change SIM Card PUK (Write down the new code)
** 05 * old PUK * new PUK * new PUK #

Change SIM Card PUK 2 (Write down the new code)
** 052 * old PUK * new PUK * new PUK #

Display Handset IMEI
*# 06 #

This was wordy but hopefully it helped you.

PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key. This is a uniqueeight-digit code specific to your SIM card. This is required when the PINnumber to unlock your mobile phone is entered incorrectly 3 times. You are thengiven 10 attempts to enter your PUK code. If an incorrect PUK code is enteredafter the 10th attempt, you will block your SIM card permanently and willrequire a new SIM card from your mobile phone provider.
PUK codes can be obtained through the following ways - The PUK code is in your SIM card documentation Starter Pack.If you do not have this then -Please contact your phone service provider.
Your cell phone service provider can give you the PUK code once you give themyour account details and they have confirmed your identity.

My mobile get locked by mistake. it is now searching PUK code. Please provide us that PUK code. My mobile No. is- 9835823049

The only thing that you need to do is call your service provider. A puk code is unique to your sim card. Your service provider is the only one that can give it to you. They will give it to you free of charge. I had to call my service provider today and get my puk code for my sim card. Call them and this will solve your problem.

Have chosen to use a PUK code. have entered one. and now are trying to enter the same code and it isnt working.

hi, the puk code is a code locked into the sim card the only way you can get this code is by calling your service provider their is no way you can change the puk code as its locked into the sim.

The main reason the phone asks for puk code is if the user has entered the wrong lock code more than 5 times then the phone will ask for the puk code.

All you need to do is call your service provider and they will give you this code over the phone for free write it down for future reference but remember this code will only work with that one sim card.

Dont try entering the wrong puk code more than five times if you do your phone is hard locked and can no longer be used.

So call your service provider and ask them for the puk code they dont charge for this and it will get your phone working again.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

I don't know the PUK code

HI,

PUK means "personal unlocking key" .

The PUK code is asked if you enter a wrong pin 3 times.

You need to call your phone service company, they can retrieve the puk code from a database
for free.

In your case you need to contact your SIM card phone provider technical support to unlock the SIM.

The PIN and PUK are related to the SIM card, not to the phone.

If you replace the SIM card with a different one, then the phone should not ask for the PUK anymore.

thank you,
