About 2 months ago the display light on my Jwin iLiuv7500 started to get dimmer. Over a period of 2 weeks or so it went totally dark. This is the second time this has happened. The first time Jwin sent me a new system under warranty. The second time the warranty had expired.
We have to use a flashlight to try to read the display. Any ideas as to how this can be repaired
Hi, I hav replaced hundreds of LCD backlamps over the years. They can just go dim with tim, you will find the lamp has gone silver as the filament is slowly burned out. They can be easy to change. Taking the lid off to check will tell you if it is easy. Often they just plug into a rubber grommet on the back of the LCD. Other times, they can be mounted to behind the LCD, and changeable only by removing the LCD..
If it blow all the time, I used to modify certain models that this was a problem with a ballast resistor, so 39ohms, 1 watt in line with the lamp to bring the burn time up a bit.
If you try to replace it yourself, find the voltage to the lamp and get a decent quality part to replace the lamp.

Lights don't necessarily go dim over time before going out. Typically, they either work, or they don't. You may want to check the wire connections providing power to the light, if you can access them. The connections may have come loose from the refrigerator vibrations. If it doesn't seem possible to get in there, then you'll probably want to get a technician to come fix it, to avoid possible damage to any of the system. These units are generally sealed fairly well for protection and quality purposes.
