Brother Intellifax 1270 Plain Paper Facsimile

I am having trouble faxing. After I press the button to send it will read receive. How do I change this?? Thanks

Brother Intellifax 1270: Cannot send or receive faxes. Copier OK.

Try to reset as below,
turn off, remove any power supply including remove the plug from the main socket, remove any data cable/phone cable as well.
Leave it for about 20 minute and turn it on again....

2 inch vertical solid band on right side when making a copy

There is probably dirt or ink on the scanner glass, this would affect both copying and sending faxes.

Here is a link to the manual and a description on page 74 showing how to clean the glass.
