(text or errors, )
power on an quickly hammer F11 f11 f11, over and over and bam recovery mode happens
this PC has CCFL lamps that go bad. LCD back lamps all die this old. or turn yellow.
if the screen black all the time out comes the flashligtht

SOURCE: won't turn on
*Unplug the AC cord
*Remove the battery
*Locate the memory cover on the underside of the notebook
*Unscrew the one or two screws securing the memory cover, and lift up to remove the cover
*Gently slide (away from one another) the metal retaining clips that hold down the module.
*The module should pop up
*Remove the module
*Reinstall the module (removing and reinstalling the module is apparently enough to rectify the contacts)
*Replace the module cover and the battery
*Attach the power cord
*Try to power up
SOURCE: bios says no ide device found (hard frive missing?)
If the BIOS is not detecting your hard drive, then there are two possible suspects here. Could just be your hard drive or it also be your motherboard.
If you have already reseated your hard drive and memory and the symptoms are still the same, then go to the nearest local computer shop that sells HP. Have them try a known-good hard drive on your system. If it works, purchase a new hard drive. If it doesn't work, your mobo needs to be replaced.

Compaq and Hp are having issues with several models, My wife just got hers repaired free out of warranty. Go to copaqs website, look up your model and see if it is one they are offering free one time repairs on. Wife's computer was doing same thing, they replaced the motherboard. Took about 2 weeks round trip . Good luck

ELVIS...I have this information on my acer aspire 5315..." WARNING...RocketDock had trouble loading your icons last time it was run. Should RocketDock load the default icons?' It has a yes or no option but i have selected these on different occasions but still it is not responding. Please help
NO its a software crash use the installation disk you said you used......go through the blue screen allowing windows to boot up from that disc let it go right to the end and press "R" for the console (the dos line ) when there enter .... chkdsk /p
Let Windows fix any problems. When finished remove the disc and I bet it will open windows for you. Please come back and tell me how did you do because most people that I helped with this problem just run but you know old saying "what goes around comes around"
