Batteries need to be discharge all the way down prior to charging. If you don't do this the battery has a memory when stage the power of the battery is in. For example if I charge a battery that is only half way discharge and I charged it, from that point on you will only have a have charged battery. When the power goes down to half you no longer have power. So you keep charging it and you end result is what you have, increasingly short life. Good Luck

Batteries are expensive so check to see how much they are versus how much a new purchase will be, and make your decision.

I purchased lenovo z 570 laptop.clarification of regarding battery i am making 0 battery for every 15 days. (A) BATTERY is fully charged (100% ) , even though iam keeping plug in socket & using...

Not really, the older NiCad batteries get a memory effect if you keep charging from a half charged state, but modern Lithium batteries do not suffer from this problem.
If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. These rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.

How long must a battery be on charge for it to be fully charged.

2 hours is enough for a battery to be completely charged...

Once the battery is charged you can remove the power supply and use the laptop till the battery drains up to 10% to 14%......
This will increase the life time of battery... If you keep on charging the battery continuously when using your laptop, then the battery life will be shortened very soon...
So charge and drain the battery properly... This will increase the life time of battery...

Battery not charging.

Hello,
I have the same problem at times. The life of laptop batteries is short if you are always connected to the internet. To save battery power / to increase the life of your battery overall and during each use, disable the internet when you are not using it.
Click on your "Local Area Connection Status", which is usually represented as an icon in the task bar menu at the bottom (blue bar) of your screen. Open that up and then click "disable" whenever you are not using the internet.
Unfortunately, at this point you might need a new battery though.
I hope this helps!
Sincerely, CBR2009

Wont charge

well its the power ic problem there is some shorting happened n the piece thats why even it becomes hot also , right sometimes, try changing to a original charger too that might help.

it has also been observed that upgrading the phone operating system or firmware makes power management proper sometimes, thus increasing the battery life, but this drastic fall in battery life is due to the shorting of the power ic ponly, only alternative is head to ebay and sell it off.

How to increase battery life

90 minutes of battery life is very good compared to most, unless you have the latest fueled battery. Normally a laptop can be set to turn off the wireless adapter when not in use and also the brightness level can be reduced and the processor speed can be set to low, enabling only word processing etc to be able to run at a reasonable speed.
