My washer will fill with water during the wash cycle just fine, but during the rinse cycle the water just trickles in. The water lines seem to be fine. What else could be causing my problem?

Usually the wash is a mix of hot and cold and the rinse is just cold, that said, it is most likely a problem with the cold water supply. check to make sure the cold water valve is all the way open and the hose isn't kinked. If those are ok turn the water supply off and remove the supply lines on the machine side, you will see a screen inside the washer that may be clogged with sediment. If so, just clean it out and put it back together. You may also want to run a wash cycle on cold only to see if it fills slowly for the wash cycle. If it does fill slowly on cold you have low pressure on the cold side.

SOURCE: just a trickle of water during rinse cycle

You write that the water flows fine during the wash cycle; if you mean while the machine is washing, then it is the pump  making the water flow. You need to watch the water flow while filling for any cycle since it could be slow filling and not running.
Since the same valve(s) control the water intake during washing and rinsing, what you describe doesn't make sense. I suggest your remove both ends of both hoses and inspect them and the mating connectors on the machine for clogged screens.
If these are clear of any sediment, then the flow control valve is failing. This is located on the rear of the machine and the screw connections for your hoses are part of the valve body. This assembly is pretty easy to remove and replace, is a common and not very expensive failure.
If you are in the US, check to see if you have a Johnstone Supply in your area. They sell mostly wholesale to tradesmen but have never turned a private sale away and are far less expensive than dealers with pricing ranging from 30-50% of dealer price.

SOURCE: water barely trickles out for rinse cycle

Hello,

It sounds like you have some buildup in the cold water valve screen. Where the hose connects to the washer there should be a screen inside the valve. Remove the cold water hose from the washer and clear any debri on the valve screen.

If this doesn't fix the slow cold water flow then you will have to replace the whole water valve assembly. The water valve is the piece that the hoses connect too and supply water to the washer.

If you have anymore questions about this please ask. I will be more than happy to help you out.

Thanks

SOURCE: cold water in the rinse cycle of the washer just trickles

Sounds like cold water solenoid is not opening all the way, its easy to replace, and is found inside the wash machine where the hose connects

SOURCE: Kenmore washer. At rinse cycle only, water fills very slowly.

For low water volume - or "Trickling" effect...

1. Turn off the water supply to both hoses.
2. Remove hoses (one at a time so you don't get them confused)
3. On the washer side - look for a removeable screen inside wher you just removed the hose.
4. Using a small screwdriver - pop out the screen and reverse-flush it/clean it. It will likely be full of sediment and calcium deposits from your pipes.
5. Replace the inlet screens.
6. Re-fit the hose to the machine.
7. Turn on water supply valves.
8. re-try.

SM 8525492A whirlpool washer rinse cycle no water comes out, just hums

when the washer goes into rinse cycle it only uses cold water so clothes don't rinkle,so most likey you have a problem with your cold water,do this, shut down the water to the washer, remove the water lines from the back of washer and mark them so you know how they came off, stick the hoses into the washer if they reach or a bucket, turn on the cold water to see if water is coming out of hose,if water does come out of hose good then stick the cold water hose back on the washer and run it only on cold,if it doesn't fill then you know you have a problem with the water valve on the washer and it's not the house water valve that's bad,and usually if you have a problem with the washer water valve it will just hum and no water will enter the washer so if you hear a humming sound it will be the water valve.tried looking up the model number you sent but it doesn't come up on the parts lookup

I have exactly the same problem. I am currently getting around the issue by letting the machine do the washing then at the end of that cycle do a manual rinse cycle.

Washer fills slow only in the rinse cycle

I had the same problem with my Kenmore Model 11022956102 washer and first thought that it was the water inlet valves. So I replaced them, but found the problem continued. After about 25 seconds into the rinse cycle the water only trickled in. Checking with a voltage meter I found that I lost 120V at terminals 3 & 5 on the washer temperature controller after 25 seconds. Even though the wiring diagram doesn't show the water temperature control board, since it's full of resisters and capacitors, I figured it was the most likely problem. So I ordered a remanufactured board from Parts Simple (#3407125), received and installed it. The 17 year old washer is now working fine once again. I hope this helps someone with the same problem. /s/ Paul

Water Pressure Woes

It's not a solution, but the water on our washer here 'trickles down', too...I guess that is normal...But if you have the same brand, you should know those three gray...things...with the black balls in them? They have holes, forming a wavelike pattern...I don't know if that's supposed to Spray, or Drain....Mehh....I stink at solutions...The water level...hmm...just like..a little bit touching the end? :)
