Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a lost or forgotten password from a router or access point; you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, you can use the default username ("admin") and password (either "password" or "1234" depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings. if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

The default user name for this model router is admin and the default password is password. The default SSID is NETGEAR. You can verify your router settings by going to Click the wireless settings link and verify that the router settings are the same as those in the wireless computer. NOTE: The settings are case-sensitive - NetGear will not work in place of NETGEAR.

Once \you reset your router, the router must be set up again in orser to use it wirelessly. Connect with CAT-5 cable router to computer, go to http://192.168.1.1 log in to router with name = admin and password left blank. Go into the Wireless section, set your SSID (Network Name) and whatever security you want to use. Write it down, do not forget, you should be back on line. If I understand your question correctly, you need the wireless key for your network.

1) If you have a computer that connects to the router wirelessly already, you can recover the wireless key by downloading this program: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_key.html. It will show you the key the computer is using to connect to the network.

2) Log into the router and change the wireless key. You can start here to find the manual for your particular model:
