Toner low??? The canon ir2020 in our office says the toner is low still after we have replaced it with a new one. How do we stop it from saying this? Callum

There are some videos that may help but most just say 'replace the toner cartridge'. It is always better to use genuine Canon cartridges for quality and fill level.

Send the toner Cartridge back to Canon. The onboard chip is mis-reporting the toner level.

No, it is controlled by an electronic chip. It is done by the manufacturer to stop you filling toner cartridges.

Does the machine say replace drum or toner. Two different units. If toner did refill or install a new toner. There is a chip on most drums and toner to tell the machine they are new. if you refill the toner the chip is still going to tell the machine it is used.

When you were replacing the drum did you tuch the drum surface?Best would be that you take some toner on piece of cloth, and polish the drum, while turning it in good direction, that the cleaning blade can clean it.After you must let it copy about 50 copies.

You can try to replace the whole drum unit cexv14, or clean the laser unit.

Also could it be that the toner unit, or toner cleaning blade are not properly distibutes the toner accross the developing/toner cylinder.

Hello sir; According this particular model,the waste toner box comes with drum unit, for another word if waste toner box is full you have to replace whole drum cartridge.

How do you know toner is not low? You can't get rid of the message. The toner sensor is within the printer, and if it says 'toner is low', then it either "is" or the sensor is defective.
