I have an Alba A120 camera. I have accidently pressed the format button and all my photos have gone - is there any way of getting these back as they were of my daughters first Xmas. Is there any software etc that could recover them? Thanks

Nope..... they're gone.
cameras will always ask you to confirm "delete" or to "format".... or full "reset".

If you formatted the card you have no photos left, they are gone.

Hi there i am sure its a problem with the camera CCD. but you can try a basic steps for resolve the problem.I inform you that if the solution not work then you need to replace the CCD.
Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec .. in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.

Move the slide switch on the side of the card.

If your camera has a serialnumber starting with 4B or 4C, you need to update the firmware to the latest version. Firmware can be downloaded here:

Or, if your card just needs to be formatted:
Press Menu/OK, select Set, select Setup, select Format, press OK.

Formatting erases all information on the memory card, preparing it for further use.

If you haven't done anything else to the card since formatting, you may be able to recover at least some of the photos. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

I hit the Format button. Now all of my pictures are gone. Can someone please help!

There are a number of programs out there that should recover your pictures from a formatted memory card. A couple of these are CardRecovery v3.00 which cost money, or PC Inspector Smart Recovery which is free.
