Set printer default setting to black&white

You need to open the printer properties by right clicking on the icon for the printer in the control panel. Then select the advanced tab and click on the "printing defaults" then click on "color" and select greyscale. This will reduce color use but may no eliminate as it may print some grey scale by combining colors.

One of the kids have played with the picture settings of my akira tv and I don't know the original settings of the tv. Can you pleas e tell me about the original numbers

Set it to default picture state. Refer its user manual for details. In most cases, the default picture will have more color than normal. Reduce the color intensity, as you like to see.

How to change the power on default copy mode form color to black & white.

Hello Gary
On the main copy display your device is probably set to the factory defaults which means that when you press reset the device is in "AUTO COLOR". Touch the "AUTO COLOR" tab on the screen and a drop down menu will show. Select "BLACK AND WHITE". Now press the "ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS"key. Select COPY SETTINGS located at the top right. Scroll down till you see STANDARD SETTINGS and select it. Press STORE. You are fixed!!! Please let FIXYA know I helped. :-) SPINAL

Printer will not print in color

To select a specific document to print in color, open the document, Photo, etc, to print, select "print", then select "printing preferences" in the dialog box, select "color". This will print that specific document in color, but the setting will default back to B&W
Now, just FYI,
You absolutely need to set the default color, in your printing preferences - usually to Black and white -to save extra costs. The default setting is ALWAYS color when the driver is installed.. so even if you are printing a word document, the printer will "make" black out of the other colors, thus costing a lot of extra $$. Your settting has apparently been changed appropriately.
This is how it's set the default color should you ever want to change it, "right click" your printer icon in "Printers and faxes" select properties, select "printing preferences", and you will see, in the bottom left corner, the color selector, select "B&W", then select "apply", and close your dialog box. EVERYTHING will now print in B&W, unless you select otherwise, or vice versa if you swith it to color.
I hope that clears it up. Please rate my response

Can I set default printing to black and white for color laser printer?

Yes. Any printer's default options can be set as desired. Open the printer's properties (Start/Control Panel/Printers/right click the printer and left click Properties), and change the setting as you wish, then click OK. Those settings should be used each time you use the print command, unless you change the settings for that particular print job.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.

Good luck!
