Olympus Stylus 850SW Digital Camera Logo

My new olympus stylus 850sw is not working. The flash settings do not seem to work, and all the pictures turn out either really dark, or a bright white screen. I've altered all the settings, and nothing is working.

You could have a problem with the board of the camera. I hope you did not drop the camera. If what you say is happening try to restart the computer of the camera by removing the main battery. It also has a reserve battery and I suggest you remove that too. In about an hour put the batteries back and see if the camera has reset itself. If it does not work I hope you applied for the extended warranty and just send it back to the camera shop if they handle it or directly to Olympus. Good Luck

Just a "me too" post. I got my stylus 850sw about a year and half ago and it was working great till a few months ago. The flash only works about half the time when it is supposed to and often when it does the resulting photo is way too bright. When it doesn't work, the photos are way too dark, of course. I really liked the shockproof and underwater parts but at this point I'm looking at getting a new camera.

Olympus Stylus 850SW viewfinder and photos pink and blurry

Pink photos are usually caused by White Balance being set wrong. You should see in the menu the WB icon. Change the icon to the symbol of the sun. Or.... just reset the camera back to the default settings by going to the camera reset in the menu. If this fails, then your picture sensor is needing to be replaced.

My Olympus Stylus 850SW won't turn on. Thought it was a drained battery, got new battery, then thought it was my charger. Bought new charger. Battery is fully charged, camera still will not turn on.

Link

Good day,

Link above leads you to the Stylus 850SW manual-see page 62. Please make sure that you are using Olympus Lithium Ion Battery only, as this is the only battery the camera is accepting. Using exhausted battery will make the camera to turn off.

If the problem still persist, kindly contact Olympus Help desk for more details.

Regards.

How i can set date and time on picture of olympus...

The 850SW will not deface your pictures by scrawling numbers across them. However, the data is stored with every picture. Depending on the program and printer, you can print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back. Please refer to the documentation for the program.

If you print directly from the camera, refer to the instructions in the "Printing" section of the camera manual (page 41 in my copy).

Pls help i have a problem with my olympus camera stylus 850sw, when I would turn it on it says write protect.what will I do...pls help

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position nearest the contacts enables writing, the position farthest from the contacts protects the card from writing. If the slide is already in the proper position, try sliding it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try a different card.

I have an olympus camera. It's a stylus 850SW. Apparently its supposed to be drop proof but it took a bad fall I guess and the side part that plugs into the computer is now having problems opening. Also,...

A "little over a year ago" means no warranty. Besides, the warranty wouldn't cover damage due to dropping the camera. If the camera still works, you can use a card reader to download your pictures and eliminate the need for "the side part that plugs into the computer."

Very bright pictures...

Make sure the Exposure Compensation is set to 0. You can find it in the camera menu.

Flash makes my pictures too bright/too dark

u might want to try and put a coffee filter over your flash when you take pictures to make the flash less bright. it sounds really silly but it actually works.
