Without knowing what make or model of your camera I can't research its memory capacity. A 32GB SD card is a massive amount of memory for most if not all point and shoot cameras one problem may be that your camera doesn't have the firmware to support this card. One other thing is the SDHC is a new style card and if you are not aware it has a lock on the side of it I'll include a diagram. The lock needs to be pushed towards the top of the card in the direction of the gold contacts. Once this is done you will also need to see if you can format the card in the camera you are going to use it in. If it formats then it'll work if it doesn't format then it won't work unbtil you update your camera firmware.

Camera saying memory full but card brand new

Not only the size is important, the manual says SD max 2 GB.
But even a 1GB SDHC card won't work, because the camera is not compatible with SDHC and SDXC.
They used to make SD cards up to 4 GB, but most new cards from 1 GB and up are SDHC and above 32 GB the cards are SDXC. Older camera's can't handle these cards, although they look the same.

Memory full

If you are using the memory that came in your camera, and you do not have an accessory SD memory card installed, your camera's built in memory will fill up quickly because it has a very small capacity. If you have an SD memory card, it may be a small card with limited capacity. SC and SDSC memory cards are available with 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 Gb capacity. Of course, the higher the capacity and the faster the card, the more you will pay. For most amateur applications 16 or 32 Gb should be sufficient. Optionally you could set your camera to take lower resolution pictures. That will increase the number of pictures your memory will accommodate, but there is a price; picture quality.

Is it allows to use 32 gigabites memory card?

I'm surprised the 32GB card is working at all. The Z1000 works with MMC and SD cards, which max out at 2GB. If the 32GB SDHC card is working at all, the camera will treat it as a 2GB SD card, unable to see the rest of the memory.

What GB memory card does work in a C310 digital camera. My printer dock does not work anymore except to charge my camera and I thought I could get a memory card and print the few pictures I take at a...

The C310 will accept SD cards up to 2GB in size and SDHC cards up to 32 GB. 1GB SD cards are getting hard to find, but 2GB cards should work just as well.

BTW, FixYa doesn't have an online store.

When pictures are taken they are being stored on the camera. They do not go to the SD card.

You need to get rid of the pictures in the internal memory. If you want to save any of them, go into the menu and find "copy". You will find the option to copy them to a memory card. Then, with no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format"....follow the on-screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then your card should work properly.

Should you use an 8gb sd memory card in a panasonic lumix dmc-fx3 camera ?

Hi,

The manual lists the following SD cards compatible:

4 GB SDHC Memory Card
2 GB SD Memory Card
1 GB SD Memory Card
512 MB SD Memory Card
256 MB SD Memory Card
128 MB SD Memory Card
64 MB SD Memory Card

An 8GB card may or may not work. If you try it, make sure it is an SDHC card. (Note: HC=High Capacity)

Thanks for using Fixya.

I just bought the Lumix DMC-ZR1 (yesterday April 3rd) When I put the memory card in, and it's blank, the camera reads that the memory card is full....how can I fix it??

In the instruction manual - see links below
  • It says DO NOT format on PC - you need to format in camera - have you done this? on Page 29 of the Manual http://panasonic.com.au/content/library/files/F002413.pdf

About cards that can be used in this unit You can use an SD Memory Card and SDHC Memory Card. •When the term card is used in these operating instructions this refers to the following types of Memory Cards. – SD Memory Card (8 MB to 2 GB) – SDHC Memory Card (4 GB to 32 GB) More specific information about memory cards that can be used with this unit. • You can only use an SDHC Memory Card if using cards with 4 GB or more capacity. • A 4 GB (or more) Memory Card without an SDHC logo is not based on the SD Standard and will not work in this product.
This is the instructions for the ZR1/ZX1 model http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/mpi/dsc/zx1/menu01.html

you mean a 4 GB sd card, or not?

I don't think that the camera will recognise a so big sd card. Try a 1 GB sd card and it will works ;-)
