We have a 2 year old Hunter Fan Model # 23285 The fan works fine. Last week the lights began flickering. We changed bulbs, checked for loose wires, etc. The lights go on dim and continue to flicker. It appears there is some current running through it but not enough juice. Waiting hours on hold with hunter company and have e-mailed. Any suggestions? Do you think the switch housing assembly has gone bad?

It's strange that the lights keep flickering even though you checked for loose wires. A light fixture about my bathroom mirror tends to flicker, but I figured it had to do with the wires, too. Maybe we should both call an electrician to see what's really causing the problem. http://www.ajitcoelectric.com/

Our hunter fan is less than 2 years old. the fan works fine but suddenly the light fixture will not work. changing the bulbs did not help

Do you have a separate wall switch controlling the lights that may be turned off and possibly not realize it? If all lights just stoped working and you are sure that their is no switch turned off controlling the lights, then you likely have a bad fan controller inside the fan housing, or a wire has come loose. If you are electrically handy, open the fan housing and check to see if you have power to the fan light wire. All of the lights going out at once sounds like a wire possibly a neutral (white) wire may have a bad connection.

The problem is not your remote on the fan. It is the light kit. We have the same problem and our electrician diagnosed it as the light kit. This problem started just out of warranty, of course, and we are now purchasing a new light kit to fix the problem.

Hunter ceiling fan has flickering lights at all times. replaced bulbs and dimmer switches. what could be the problem?

Loose connecton on the receptical (bulb socket). Also in the ligh scoket in the center there is a connector. it may need to to be raised up. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHECK WITH POWER ON
KILL POWER AT MAINB BREAKER.

Also check all wire nuts for loose or corroded connections

I just installed a hunter 70" fan model #23285.

Not really a solution but .. try this.. Don't use the fan lights as primary lighting. Install low wattage bulbs in the fan to reduce the shadow depth, and use alternate primary lighting, for example a Torchier style floor lamp.

You realize of course that it did not show in the store because it was surrounded by alternate light sources, eliminating the shadows.

My 52" Hunter Ceiling Fan with remote has been a gem. Last week when one of the light bulbs burnt out, I replaced the bulb, and then neither of the lights (it's a 2 light bulb fan) would come on. The fan...

The two bulbs are just having a separate live cable in parallel with the one of the motor.

So since you have mentioned that you had a burned bulb this sometimes causes a short inside the receptacle of the bulb. So you just need to disassemble the receptacle of the burned bulb and check both the wires live and neutral they are loose or disconnect or even melt and disconnect.

Is a simple operation since you need to check only two wires however it not so easy to remove the bulbs and reconnect the wires.

I have a Hunter fan with remote and the light flickers without coming on completely - and you can hear a clicking noise coming from the fan. The fan works and the bulbs and batteries were changed

The pins inside the remote could have been switched or the wiring inside the fan could have come loose. Check the wiring at the fan first. The vibrations of the fan could have worked the light conrol wire loose.

mcdevito75 here, If the wireing in your home / apartment is old and especially if you have an A/C unit or refrigerator on the same circuit as the celing fan lights may flicker with these other appliances going on. --------------- You can also check the wall switch that turns the fan lights on.

Your ghost problem was probably due to a loose connection. The wire has probably come completely loose or the heat from the loose connection has damaged the relay.

Fan works, light doesn't on Hunter ceiling fan

I would begin by testing each bulb in a different socket somewhere in the house.
