The ones i see listed are not an exact model number match, however, in my experience have found that most harnesses will fit models from the same make... for example, when you swap a Sony deck you can replace it with another Sony deck with a different model number just by unplugging the harness from the deck itself and plugging it into the new deck.

Can I remove the cassette deck from my Technics SH-DV290 ?

Of course you can, remove deck from system get a pair of scissors cut the wire all the way through that is connected to the tape deck, tape up the cut and reconnect the wire to the dvd part and main equaliser. All done. Tried and tested :)

Just wondering if i really need to run the wires "sensing power on & HIGH LEVEL INPUT" from my amp to my deck..?

If your deck has RCA's use those. If not then run your high level input wires to the output wires on your deck. If it is not stock, then it should have RCA's

I have a 98 grand prix an I was wondering how to install it.. I have a harness that came with it but my factory harness won't fit. I was wondering if j have to rewire the factory harness to my JVC...

You need to go to your local "best buy" or electronics store and ask them for your car's "stereo wire harness". This will convert the wires from your car to match all the colors from your deck. (green, purple, white, gray, blue, yellow, red, ect. Same on all after market decks. All brands use the same wires) Take that new harness and your deck harness, twist the matching wire colors together, tape them with electrical tape, plug the harness back into the car and deck, and it should be good. Click, click, done. Remember to plug the antenna in as well before you get the deck in.

I need to connect my remote wire to a accessory wire but i dont know which one is the accessory wire. I dont have that light tester thing so I cant try it out. I heard you can just tap it with some fuse...

The accessory wire that you are looking for is the one that tells the head unit to turn on when you turn the key in car. If you have an aftermarket deck then the deck has it's own for the amp usually it is blue and in your case may not be connected to anything. If you don't have an aftermarket deck you will need to find a wiring diagram for the car radio harrness and it will be labeled. You dont want to use any random wire because if that wire always has power your amp will stay on and kill battery. You can wire a switch if you choose this method to prevent that from happening. You may also try running a wire from main power of amp to a small fuse (remote uses less than 2A) then to a switch and then back to remote screw of amp.
This website has wiring diagrams but colors dont always match. http://www.the12volt.com/ Good Luck

Deck turns off when i hit a bump in my car

A couple things...but the deck must come out to check. (assuming this is a 12v N.American car) If you cannot remove or you dont know how - take it to a car stero shop. Electrical fires are nasty!
  1. Make sure there are no open wires and connections are tight and taped (badly crimped connectors will hide loose connections)
  2. Make sure the deck is supported in the back-it should not wiggle around.
  3. There should be a wire firmly connected to the chassis of the car and the back chassis of the deck - Please do not drill into the deck - use an existing bolt !

No sound from new stereo

check the speakers in the rear deck, in the rear hatch or trunk, often the two wires that come out of the speaker touch if that happens it will short out the speaker drivers in the radio most times no permanant damage will occur. separate the wires so they do not touch,or touch the metal speker base, that may not be the problem but its a start..

Loss of power.

I have a question for you. When you wash your deck, are you tipping your mower up, or on its side a bit? If so, you could be getting oil in the cylinder, as these are very sensitive to it when tipped. It'll act exactly as you describe, and then usually spit a good amount of blue smoke out, then run fine.

I cant get my subwoofer system to work

Do you use a amplifier to power the subs? If so, the amp needs a signal to turn on. This is supplied by the blue/white wire labeled 'system remote' in pioneer radio's.

Search for the next term on this site for more information about this wire:
Remote turn-on in car amplifiers is obligatory?

CANT GET SOUND

This is often caused by a shorted speaker wire. If you have a pinched or loose speaker wire that's touching metal, it will cause the deck's internal amplifier to shut off. If you have a multimeter available, disconnect the deck then check each speaker wire for continuity with the chassis ground wire. If you don't have a meter, you can disconnect all the speakers, then connect them again one at a time. See if you can tell if there's one speaker that kills the deck's output.
