Hello, sounds like your drive F: is the cd or dvd drive..or maybe even a virtual cd drive. but definitely not the usb drive. Try to right-click on all of your visible drives in turn, go down to 'properties' and see if any of them are around 4gb in size. This will be your usb drive. Are you plugging it directly into the computer or through a hub...if through a hub try plugging directly into a computer usb port till you've successfully identified the drive letter.

I plug my zeepad into my comp with a usb plug it tells me it's looking for software to download but some other screen pops up asken me to put in the software disk that came with my device but I never...

Same problem happens to me when I insert something into one of my computer's USB ports, such as a flash drive, it doesn't get recognized. This happens with things other than just a flash drive as well, like my iPod. I have numerous USB ports on my computer, but they all act the same. I'll insert a flash drive and even after it's not automatically recognized, I'll go into "My Computer" and it shows all the "Removable Disk" drives as being empty. I'll click on one and a prompt will come up and say, "Please insert a disk into drive F" or whatever drive I happen to click on. I've tried this with all the drives but to no avail.

Transcend 160GB Portable Hard Disk is not recognized by computer

when you power up the computer press F2 or "del" key to enter in bios then go to usb option and enable usb 2.0 legacy. then save settings .
then check.
some times usb speed make issue so try this.
Also check your usb cable working fine try with other usb cable.
Also check harddisk jumper settings.
If still face problems then you need to repair it.
You shuold take it to service shop becasue you try with 10 computers and all gives same error then your harddisk has hardware issue.
try above solution .

I inserted my Apcer USB 1gb flash drive, it was recognized but when i open it, it says ''Please insert a disk into drive X:''

Is there anything on the disk it self? If there is/was a virus on the disk, it could have left a 'autorun.inf' file on it ... So try Right-click and select explore. Or try to access it via the Total Commander
If that doesn't work, try formatting the disk.
This is an often problem with most low-end flash disks.
Did you receive some software with that disk?

Usb device not recognized

Hi i had a similar problem but mine was with a new HDD but you could try it and see if it helps at all:

Try looking for the drive in the "Disk Management".
Right click on "My Computer" or "Computer" and select "Manage" then select the "Disk Management" item.

If you can see the drive, but there is no drive letter assigned, you may need to format it for your operating system or create an accessible partition on the drive. You can access all these options by right clicking on the drive from the "disk management" screen that you should be on.

mine needed to be initialized (by right clicking on it) and then i formated it

Good Luck!
