When you print envelopes you have to choose the envelopes in the printer settings then only machine knows that envelope is printing. when you don't select envelope in printer settings when you sent a print, the printer knows the a normal paper is coming through. the difference is that the envelope is a bit thick the normal paper. when envelope is selected in printer properties then the printer adjusts its settings to print on envelopes.

How configure duplexer dell 3110 cn?

You don't really need to configure it as such.

The printer should recognise the duplexer if it is fitted correctly, and it's difficult NOT TO.

Printing a settings page will show the duplexer under Printer Options.

You printer driver needs to be aware of the duplexer, there is an option to 'get information from printer' within the Windows driver.

Once the driver knows the duplexer is available, you'll have an option in the printer driver to print double sided.

This has to do with the document printing properties. When you are ready to print a document, choose properties and make sure you go through the printer settings under that software.
The test page only verifies the cartridges. The printer properties of the software control the printer during printing.

Dell 5310n knocking noise when printing envelopes

This is a good thing. The 'knocking' noise is actually called a "Thumper". It's purpose is to get the air out of the envelope before it hits the fuser. Air in the envelope typically leads to creases on the envelope itself.

Dell A920 won't print envelopes

I have(had) the same problem using the Dell A920 printer on a Dell compunter running XP. After spending a hour trying to find a solution on the internet, I finally found a solution on my own. When ready to print a envelope. Go to File/Print Click Properties button In lower right hand corner, check "Print Color Image in Black and White" box Click OK button Click OK in print pop up When finished, repeat to uncheck "Print Color Image in Black and White" box to allow for color printing.
