Changing number of rings

I want to increase the number of rings before a call goes to voicemail. Currently it is set to only two.

  • suzannemarie Oct 30, 2008

There is no "intercom" button on my phone. When I dialed #6041, the message read "call forward to" and then I entered the voicemail box extension, and then 5. The problem was not fixed. It said "error." Any other ideas?

    Got it! Thanks.

If you would go to your phone and dial intcorm #6041 plus thevoice maik extension number than enter time in 20 for exemple is 5 ring before going to voice mail than hang up.

I am sorry, now I know what system you have . Do #6041, enter the voice mail extension number for exemple 300, enter 12 for 3 rings or 16 for 4 rings. Then hang up.

The Voice mail extensionnumber is not your voice mail it the number you dial internally to call voice mail. It could be 300, or 400 , or whatever the number you dial when changing the main greeting.

I need to extend the length of time my phone rings on incoming calls

Hello, Mary -

I checked the user manual for your Alcatel 3003G cell phone:
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1150047/Alcatel-Tribe-3003g.html?page=1#manual

I did not find any information regarding increasing the length of time of rings of incoming calls in the manual. So, I thought the incoming rings length of time may be dependent upon your cell phone service provider, Vodafone.

I found some information on a Vodafone Support page:
https://support.vodafone.co.uk/
How to increase the time before a call goes to voicemail?
(Quote)
Your Vodafone mobile is set to ring for 15 seconds before going to voicemail. You can change how long it rings for, choosing from 5 to 30 seconds in 5-second intervals.

To choose your desired ringing time:
  • Enter **61*121*11* on your Vodafone mobile
  • Choose the number of seconds you'd like your phone to ring for, followed by #
  • Press Call
  • A confirmation message will pop up on your screen with your new ring time
For example, if you want to set your Vodafone mobile to ring for 25 seconds, you enter **61*121*11*25#, and press Call. When the message pops up, you'll know it's all done.

Watch this simple video to find out how to increase the time before a call goes to voicemail.

How do I increase ring time before phone transfers to voicemail

Which phone are you using - please be specific.

Generally Go To Settings > Call Settings > Additional Settings / Call Forwarding Settings > Voice Calls > Change the always forward Settings, here it will ask you for Number of Rings Before Forwarding. Change that as per your convenience.

On the uniden TRU9466 is there any way to increase the number of rings before it goes into voicemail?

The TRU9466 isn't an answering machine. The number of rings is controlled by whatever answering machine or voicemail system you have on your phone line. Please refer to the documentation for the answering machine or voicemail system to change the ring count.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this post and specify the answering machine or voicemail system.

How do i change the number of rings before voicemail picks up on a samsung rugby

For all of you that want a real answer here ya go. This isn't something you can change on your phone this has to be changed with your service provider. If you are with AT&T, like I am, then this is the solution for you (link of where I found it below as well). 1. enter *#61*11# and press send/talk on your phone.
2. write down the number your calls are currently forwarded to (usually +1401#######, but not always). this is your voicemail deposit number.
3. decide how long you want the phone to ring in 5 second intervals. the maximum time is 30 seconds. i'd recommend 25 seconds or less, as using 30 may cause you to be billed for a minute of airtime each time someone is forwarded to voicemail.
4. now enter **61*[number from step 2]*11*[number from step 3, use 2 digits]# and press send/talk.

example
voicemail deposit number is +14015551212
you want it to ring for 20 seconds
you would enter **61*+14015551212*11*20# and press send/talk.

if you have trouble with the above procedure, you can always call customer care at 800-331-0500 to change it.
OR QUESTION: How can I adjust the number of times my wireless phone will ring before the caller goes to voicemail? ANSWER: Contact Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500 or dial 611 from your wireless phone to change the amount of time your phone will ring before going to voice mail. The adjustments made by Customer Care are based on the traditional ring heard by the caller, not the unique Ringtone you hear from your phone. I just wanted to add that increasing the ring length to 30 seconds will not cause you to be charged a minute should the caller go to voicemail. This was confirmed by an AT&T technician.

THE ANSWERING SYSTEM WON'T RECORD MESSAGES,ALL MESSAGES GOES INTO POOVIDERS VOICE MAILE, AS IF MY PHONE IS BUSSEY?????? I CHECKED AND RECORD TIME IS NOT SET TO ANNOUNCE ONLY ANS ALL MESSAGES HAVE BEEN...

This happens when the number of rings to answer of the provider voicemail is less than the number of rings to answer that the answer machine is set for. For example: if your provider voicemail rings to answer is set for 3 rings and the answer machine is set for 4 rings then the voicemail answers before the 4th ring, therefore the answer machine will never get a message. I would call the service provider's customer service number and request they increase the rings to answer above the number of rings to answer that the answer machine is set for. If you don't want voicemail to answer any calls(when your line is busy or when the answer machine is turned off) ask your service provider to disable voicemail.

How do I increase the number of rings before my LG rumor goes straight to voicemail? it's currently on 4 rings and I don't know how to change it. I'm with Bell.

Get a different phone from a company other than LG. Also get a different carrier if you are using verizon. Neither company actually wants us to know how to change the number of rings. Neither company has customer service that knows how to change it as well.

I need to change the number of rings before phone goes to voicemail

First, call your voice mail. After the messages you will be given a menu to follow. On the Sony Ericsson W350 I went to Personal Options (4) then to Administrative Options (2) and finally Prompt Level (3). After reaching Prompt Level you have the option to shorten or extend the number of rings. At this point I chose to shorten the prompt and then I exitted the system.
