Not sure where you are in the world but in Canada the repair would be about $80.00 plus our taxes so it's iffy on repair. I'd suggest not repairing and invest in newer technology. Also I'd keep the camera you have for an outdoor camera I'd beat the heck out of a cell phone grab shot. When looking for a replacement I would suggest looking into Olympus, Canon, Nikon and Pentax models. The newer compact cameras have tons of features so you really need to research them. have you tried resetting the camera? i had this same problem and i just went to menu>setup>setup1>initalize>OK
and it went away completely.
