I have an Alesis io2 audio-interface and a macbook pro. I'm using garageband software. I plug the interface into the macbook before I load garageband. (So standard protocol.) My problem is that when I play notes through the midi=keyboard, everything plays fine for a while, and then suddenly random notes just stay sustained for no reason. Not even notes I have pressed. This all happens even though I'm not using a sustain pedal and don't have one connected either. I'm also making sure I'm only running GarageBand and one track on that even, so it can't be overloading the computer surely. Any ideas how I solve this or why it's happening?

Sorry about your problem, i have the same issue. i think i solved i'm by using my midisport 2x2. Alesis fucked up on the midi with this unit. use an other midi sort, and that may fix the problem.

I recently bought the AKG Perception 120 and have a macbook pro. I also bought a XLR to usb cord to record it in Garageband... But there is no sign of any sound going through the microphone. Please he

Make sure your preferences settings in the MBP are set to use that input. USB recording is not the best way to do things. I'd look online and buy an inexpensive interface, like a Lexicon or Presonus etc, then the interface will connect via USB, but your mic will go into a genuine XLR input on the interface. You'll also benefit from much more gain and level control.

Steinberg CI1 USB doesn't light up when plugged in

I restart with the CI1 plugged in) but I can't 'get it' in Garageband. I've tried the Garageband preferences, and system Audio section, but there's no device to select there - only internal mic.
Be sure to get the latest update from Steinberg.net
And in Garageband you'll find your unit in preferences - input

When using with PC you have to go into soundcard settings and disable the internal sound card and select io2 or asio drivers.
I'm thinking it's the same on a mac

I have an io26 firewire audio interface linked to my macbook. When i record in cubase le4n i'm only getting sound out of the left headphone and its seriously quiet. I have set the audio/midi settings to...

your audio are not in interface with your macbook it means to say, the common wire are not in the same connection. that why you only hear sound on your left headphone. in short your firewire audio is not compatible with your macbook. but you can rewire it with same audio plug. or replace the audio plug with the compatible one. when you do this, make sure that the common wire of your firewire audio and your macbook are in the same connection.
