I have a Maytag Electric Dryer model #MDE5500AYW that will not heat up. When I opened the front and looked at the heating element, I noticed that the wire attached to the heating element (a black wire) was no longer attached. A closer look showed that the wire and connector had been burned and the insulation around the wire is bubbled. I have replaced the heating element and put on a new wire connector, but the wire burned again. And again no power to the heating element. What is causing the wire to burn? All the other wires are ok, just the power wire to the heating element.

Okay have you replaced the wire with with the correct one? If the wire gauge is wrong it will do every time next you need a volt meter with a buzzer sound maker on it test your thermostat and hi limit thermostat if it makes a noise when testing its working. Only thing that would cause that wire to keep burning are those options and if all checks out okay then its faulty wiring which is grounding out somewhere which is a pain to trace and if you might not find the bad wire had a few of these with these problems and I ended up junking them big fire hazard sorry for the problem.

WHY DOES MY NEPTUNE MATAG DRYER MDE5500AYW NOT HEAT ...AND WHERE ARE THE THERMAL SWITCH, HI LIMIT THERMOSTAT, AND HEATING ELEMENT?

All those parts are in the bottom front. TURN off the power! then open the front door and remove the 4 screw's, 2 on the hindges and 2 on the other side. Then you can close the door, and pull from the top edges of the front panel(sometimes you need a thin screw driver to free the front) the front panel will tilt forward and then you can lift it off. You will need a Ohm meter to check those parts for continuity. Make sure you remove the wires from the part you are testing.

Maytag Neptune dryer will not turn on...has at least 110 electris coming to it... shows a digital display .8.8 ...

you need 240volts for it to run and heat, the timer and motor are each on their one side of 110volts and the element needs 240volts to heat,so if the motor runs or the timer runs but not both and it doesnt heat your missing one of the 110 to 120volt phases, check the homes power panel it will have either a tandem pole 30 amp breaker or 2 30 amp fuses and one of them will be bad(open) the breaker may look like its not tripped, but sometimes one leg will open and not show, turn it off and back on then check for 240volts at the dryer

I have a MAYTAG MDE5500AYW drier that spins but doesn't heat up. Any recomendations?

Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.
