The volume control assembly probably has dirt/dust built up inside...you can clean the control with an electrical contact cleaner that is safe on plastics (ask your retailer ). You will need to remove the cover to gain access to the volume control assembly. Once the cover is removed you can spray the cleaner into the control assembly. Whilst your in there you may want to clean any other controls. Make sure you let the cleaning agent dry thoroughly before you power the unit back up. Another possibility is (if the above dosen't solve it) the control itself has become defective and will need to be replaced

Model #bc345crs volume knob not right

If the volume knob on your model #bc345crs is not functioning properly, there could be a few potential causes. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check for any debris or blockage around the knob that might be preventing it from turning properly. Clean the area with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt.
  2. Try turning the knob in both directions to see if there is any difference in the sound output. If the knob only seems to work in one direction, it could be a sign of a faulty potentiometer, which is the component responsible for regulating the volume.
  3. If cleaning the knob and turning it in both directions doesn't improve the issue, you may need to open up the device and check for any loose connections or damaged components. This should only be attempted by someone with experience working with electronics.
  4. If you are unable to diagnose and fix the issue yourself, it may be best to bring the device to a professional for repair or replacement.

I have a 97 Mercury Tracer. When i try to turn down my radio it turns all the way up. Can someone tell me how to fix this ?

Get a can of Deoxit. Pull the volume knob sraight out until it comes off. Put the straw on the Deoxit and spray it down the shaft that the knob was on. turn the volume knob around one direction and then the other. If it improves, repeat.

Why could my volume knob be stuck on max volume and not adjusting?

There is probably grease or dirt on the contacts inside the unit. Here's a video that shows you how to fix it:

The volume conrtol knob on my Casio Privia Px-320 doesn't work. The volume won't go up or down and the knob feels loose. Can I fix it at home?

I found an answer at the end of this page: http://music-electronics-forum.com/t31080/ After replacing the potentiometer volume is OK. The original potentiometer has a very delicate axis.

Volume knob only increases volume

Try spraying some electrical contact cleaner into the volume potentiometer - i.e. take off the volume knob, then spray the cleaner at the base of the plastic stalk.

Volume knob quirks

if you know how to repair, then replace the volume control switch. it is a digital type/mechanical type of switch with silicone oil on it to prevent sudden turn of volume. if i were the repairman i can simply clean the contacts of the volume control and pour silicon oil again. but i really dont know in your area if they try to clean those.

Sound

Try this....

Locate the volume knob (toshiba laptops normally has this volume know located on the side of the laptop). Make sure it turned on. and see what happens. Even if the sound icon in the taskbar is turned up but if this knob is not then there would be no sound at all. I am assuming that your drivers are good since you said in the device manager that all are working properly.

hope i was able to help
